Thoughts:

I thought it was too easy at first (played through half the characters story modes with only a few stages needing two attempts - admittedly I am playing it on 'easy' but it's really easy) but the Tower thing is putting me in my place.

Not sure what to make of the Jedi Characters they seem very out of place with the others.

The Character creation mode is excellent.

The gwaffix are so ZOMG for a fighter (not just teh b00bz LOL) the character models and backgrounds look gorgeous.

Still not used my Hori stick with it yet, not felt that I'm hampered with the pad enough to warrant plugging it in.

So what does everyone else think?

Also: only £25 in Morrissons this week only!

I quite like it; I've fairly casually played SC1 and 2 (skipped 3) so I wanted to see what my shiny new 360 made of it. I haven't played it as much as I should have, but things like GW2 keep calling me instead. (I'm also much more of a Tekken person, I'm much more serious about that.)

I too am being put in my place by the Tower mode, but I think fiddling around with skills a bit is the answer to progress on that.

I played the demo, I just don't know if I would play it enough to justify buying it. Also the cut scene comments at the beginning of each fight are truly awful, they must be a piss take.

Although I am getting bored of CoD4 (gasp it has only taken 14 days of solid playing), is this Morrison's deal available on their website?

In store only, I don't think you can buy anything online from them.

Given it's a device to get people in stores, you'd never see that on a site.

I've only payed SC3 but I loved it! Can you still create characters and do the story-mode thing? I think a 360 may be in order.

You'll like it I'm sure. I missed out on SC3 only had the first 2 which I loved.

What consoles do you have btw?

Just the PS2 sadly. I'm on the bread line-if Gaz likes it and gets it I'll be round there 24/7 playing on it :)

I think it's excellent. I also wish I knew where my disk is, so I could challenge you to a game. It's been missing for weeks after I lost on level 56 of the tower. (If you think the early tower is hard, you have no idea how bad it will get. Descent isn't at all hard except for the cats, as far as I can tell.

I am tempted to go to morrisons and buy me another copy, and give away my first if I ever find it again.

Bad things about it:

Yoda. He's Shit to play with and even worse to play against.

That's about all I can think of. Despite it causing me to destroy things in a fit of rage.

Yes, the Jedi bods are a little unnecessary.

We must battle online Dave, I must admit so far I've slogged my way through with a Mash - Grab A - Mash - Grab B - Repeat tactic. I remembered some of the specific moves for each character but need to learn more. (Nothing in the manual which is weird)

Also: How do you get their bras and underpants off Dave?

You can't do that, but I was more than a little embarrassed when the (very christian) housemates were watching and then suddenly one of the (girl) fighters clothes suddenly disappeared so that she was only in her underwear. (Not helped by the way I tend to specialise with the girl characters, due to their superior speed.)

Never mind that, how'd he get them on in the first place?

I tend to favor the girls too Cassandra, Taki & Talim. I have still to unlock Yoshimitsu and a few others though.

Yoshimitsu is one of the best characters EVA!!!111z

In SCIV, I found Taki and Talim to be excellent, Seong Mina to be quite tricky until you get used to her, Xianghua nowhere near as good as SCII. Ivy times better than she ever was, Tira to be nigh on unusable, Amy to have no reach and never really connected with the greeks (and I think Lizardman has the advantage over them due to his floor raping move, but otherwise fairly similar style).

Don't go near any of the special characters - their normal counterparts are better with the exception of the Amy special. But as Amy is rubbish anyway...

Now, either Vader is utterly crap or I've lost all my (mad) SC skillz. Can just about squeak out a win against everyone else, but the fucking Apprentice keeps on smushing me into oblivion! >:(

Talim, on the other hand, is excellence personified.

Better than Yoda where an attempted slash in the knees ends up with a somersault over his head and off the edge of the level.

From reports I've heard, both are similary shit, and I'm happy enough to play the game pretending that they aren't even in it.

Played through some more story modes last night. Tira is a a great fighter (not played her before as I missed out on SC3) but her voice is like nails down a blackboard.

You could just make a Tira fighter and use that instead, though. I just didn't like the style of play with her at all though. Too Dancey.

Everyone on Xbox Live plays as Cervantes or Kilik, as it's largely impossible to guard impact or anything fancy like that, but I play Mitserugi because he can take out anyone in a few moves. The best womans characters are Sophitia, Setsuka and Amy.

It's the 4th Sequel to Soul Blade.

Make of that what you will. It;s been such a long time since I played Soul Blade, I can't remember what it was like.

Location. But actually, problem solved, there's another Morrison's near Glenrothes so I'll take a detour this evening. And then they probably won't have it anyway :)

Well, I ahev bought this now. I even saw Dimrill playing it online, sadly I couldn't figure out how to send an invite! I still think I prefer Tekken, but it makes a change from CoD.

Does it look as good and play as well as the Dreamcast original? I played 3 on the PS2 and it was laughably bad. My mate who owned the PS2 version was taken aback by how good the DC version was.

I quite quite disliked it at first, but I'm gradually getting to know the character's movesets so I'm quite pleased with it now.
