You can have my copy of Polarium if you want, I didn't gel with it at all. I might even throw in some Resolve if you're lucky.

We should have a coordinated "get drunk together" session tonight.

I need a celebratory drink actually.

You shouldn't (apparently) take paracetamol with alcohol for your liver's sake. If you want to take painkillers while beered up, go for ibuprofen :)

Hmm...

To find out, you have to wait til I am drunk, and also agree to be drunk too.

Edit: Whoops, I always drink Whiskey and lemsip, and that has paracetamol in it.

Hmm.. I don't think I've been blind drunk since the Christmas party back in 2006 - I've tended to be more sensible about it since then. Mind you, if I did get paralytic, I doubt I'd be able to operate my PC anyway, let alone post messages.

Last session I had when I was very very drunk was January, for my 22nd birthday :) being drunk in Ironbridge is fuuuun.

I never take tablets-not even one when drinking, I'm always worried it'll make me really ill.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE IBUPROFEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

I had a fairly bad hangover a while ago, and rootled around for some pain killers when I woke up in the morning. What was left in the cupboard were the max strength ibuprofen I'd had for my tendonitis/golfer's elbow/tennis elbow period of massive pain after a mammoth drystone-walling session a few months ago. So I duly popped a couple of those and then we all toddled off to Mrs Chris's aunt's place for a party that afternoon.

An hour or so after I'd taken the ibuprofen I was doubled up on the back seat of our car whilst we were heading down the A46 with the most excrutiating pain I've ever experienced - worse than when I had appendicitis. I thought I was going to die. At one point my legs ended up out of the car window I was thrashing around so much in agony. I had no idea what was causing this, which was incredibly scary.

Eventually, after 30 minutes or so, the pain subsides and pure pain-free bliss washed over me. It was wonderful. I have rarely been so glad to be alive as I was at that point.

When we got to the party I had a chat with Mrs Chris's mum (who used to be a nurse), and it turns out this was due to taking ibuprofen on an empty stomach.

WHY DON'T THEY PUT THIS IN BIG WRITING ON THE BOX, THE INCONSIDERATE IDIOTS?

Pure evil.

I don't seem to get very, very drunk anymore, just drunk. That's probably because I only drink beer and I have a limited belly capacity (so far...), so I reach a stage where I can't force any more down my neck and that's that for the night.

They do say to take with or after food... that said, I take it on an empty stomach fine. I also take paracetamol with beer, and indeed paracetamol, aspirin and ibuprofen all at once, which is apparently lethal. Especially with beer. Which I do.

Guts of iron, me.

Yeah, in the instruction leaflet, which noone ever reads for any drug ever. I mean the warning should be in MASSIVE LETTERS ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX.

Talking of instruction leaflets in drug boxes - it doesn't matter which end I open a new box at, it's always the end that has the leaflet wrapped over the pill packages. It's really freaking me out, now.

But if I were, that should increase the odds of me getting the non-leaflet end. It's bizarre. And slightly terrifying. The laws of probability are apparently singling me out for an anomoly.

I'm well - Second Born is being adorable, yet not sleeping as much as we would like, so tired but happy, mostly!

I think it's always at the opening of the right side of the box so when you open the flap on the right side with the front of the box facing you it's always there. The majority of people are right handed, I guess, so that makes sense. THOUGH you often tend to be looking at the back of the box when you open them because you are reading the instructions...

Hmmm...

I only changed subject once! I just thought I'd also retake my first year for a laugh...

Boo for non-sleeping child, but glad you're good otherwise. Can I suggest gin as an aid to sleeping?

I get about half way through the side effects list and then decide that I'll just put up with whatever it is I thought I wanted the pills for in the first place.

No, see - I've tried alternating randomly between which end I open a pack from the first time, and it's still ALWAYS the leaflet end.

Rev Owen - I bet you read manuals, too. Anything the doctor prescribes, it's up to them to tell me anything important. I will stand on this point of principle up to the point when I keel over in pain and/or die horribly.

I bought some sleeping pills last weekend, to combat the fucked body clock I seem to develop over the weekend which means I don't get to sleep until about 3am every Monday morning. On the list of side-effects? 'May cause drowsiness'.

:D That's ace.

I try not to get very drunk unless it's a birthday or something nowadays because:

A, It's too expensive
B, I end up accidentally breaking things when I get home
C, I find new and wonderully weird people that I give my number to and say 'we'll arrange to go out again!'
D, I go missing for hours on end
E, My liver hurts bad
F, People have camera's nowadays or excellent camera phones...and there's facebook to be scared of.

I suspect I may get squiffy tonight, starting with a drink in Paddington station in, ooooh, 3 hours or so.

The sink, My David Bowie CD's (sobs brokenly), the cats sofa/chair thing I bought them and my cupboard so far :S

I fall over a lot, I think my balance is extremely off when drunk-more so than the normal drunk that is. Normally I just find somewhere and lie down quietly for a little bit

The pear-flavoured alcoholic fizzy water which IKEA sell is very nice and only £1 a tin. I recommend that.

Also - Ikea's moose sausage. It's not alcoholic, but it is awesomes.

I've never been to ikea-that's quite sad really. I think that's because I don't get on with flat packed stuff as some twat always has my nails/screws/alan keys and I just end up nailing things in with picture hooks, taks and anything else remotely sharp
