They come with all of that in the box.

No, mine have never had the proper bits in them for putting the pieces together is what I meant. I'll have 2 nails at best

Ikea sell cheap vodka, which is actually drinkable, and also useful for dissolving kola kubes in.

They also sell Kopperberg pear cider for less than a quid a can, which is nice also, although it does just taste like pop.

I virtually don't drink anymore. I still have beer left over from the poker night.

As WC Fields put it, "never trust a man who doesn't drink".

More importantly, as Mr Milligan put it, "never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a knitted teacosy, doesn't try it on as a hat".

Most of Simon's side of the family says this-but that is because they are all raging alcofrolicks.

That's brilliant! Gaz hasn't even put anything on his :s

EDIT: Mimi-that's my father, although I don't call him dad or anything as I don't really know him well enough to find that a comfortable word to use

Ohhh, OK! See, context! I couldn't work out who a Simon in your family could be without being on the same side of the family as you and not your partner, who isn't called Simon, but Gazchap.

I hope that is Gazchap's real name. That, or Cashzap.

When's he coming back?

Christ, I read that fast then and my eyes went funny :nerd: hehe

Gareth is back tomorrow and I'll be seeing him in the evening apparently. I did say he may want to rethink that as he'll be tired from the flight and whatever-but he wanted to. Awwww! And he puts kisses after texts now and again, bless him.

He doesn't get embaressed, he's a bit like me in that respect. I think it's because I've done so many stupid things that the need to feel embaressed has gone. If I had anything juicy then I'd tell you, no worries about that :)

EDIT: Plus-he's a bit sneakier than I am and would find something out about me that could be used in a blackmail situation

I'm sure we know all Gazchap's secrets anyway. Like what happened in Thailand. And the incident with that goat farmer. And the time he got married in bizarre circumstances. It's all in the archive somewhere.

I have been researching ;) I looked back at the posts he made about me, quite amusing to look back on. The marriage was a bit...odd, that set alarm bells off in my head when we first met. He's a nutter! He'll try and tie you down, run like fuck! but now all is fine :)

I meant his back was sunburnt-maybe his 'todger' is aswell, I'll have to find out

People were ringing bicycle bells after him for ages after that.

A quick reminder for him:

Haha! The problem is I've been out with older men so there usually is marriage somewhere in there, but he's 24 (well-25 now) and I thought that was a bit young really. But I suppose if you love(d) someone then you do what feels right at the time.

I like him though and we're similar in some ways-he doesn't like Public Affection either which is also great as that's a big thing for me

So, it all starts just over a year ago.

I had just arrived at Leeds festival, I was stewarding for Oxfam, and the deal is, you get 3 eight hour shifts throughout the festival, randomly assigned. I got shitty shifts, like, working Friday and Saturday night. I go and have a word with the top Oxfam bloke (who I am fairly pally with) to see if he can sort me out some better shifts, and funnily enough, they need 4 Oxfam stewards to go and work for "The Green Messengers", who are the recycling people, because they are short of staff. They work Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday, so miss none of the festival.

I jumped at the chance, mainly so I didn't miss NIN.

So, I turn up on the Wednesday morning. We get handed a bunch of recycling bags, and are told to pair off, and go and hand them out to people setting up camp.

I get paired up with this really sweet, hot girl called Dani. This is where the story starts to get interesting.

We have a really great time hanging out all day. We get on really well, and there is a lot of chemistry between us. We go for some hot cider after we finish our shifts, and agree to make sure we are paired together the next day too.

Same again the next day, we have a load of fun just hanging out together, and we swap phone numbers so we can go and see a bunch of the bands we both want to see together. Except shortly after the shift my battery died...

We see each other again on Monday, and because of riots, she got no sleep, and is barely fit to stand up, never mind work. I pretty much look after her the whole shift, and we are hugging lots. She then reveals that she has a long term boyfriend, and it kind of ends there...

Except, I still have her phone number, so after I get home, and have charge, we text each other a few times, and then add each other on facebook, and keep in touch a little bit like that.

Flash forwards to just before Leeds festival this year. Fantastic, she is going to come again, and even better, she's an Oxfam steward this time too, so we can camp together. On the downside, her boyfriend is here this time too, although not as an Oxfam steward, so he won't be camped with us.

Anyway, we spend the whole time hanging out, and we got our shifts together. We get on even better than before, there is an obvious spark between us, and we come very close to kissing a bunch of times. I kind of held back because I knew she was in a relationship, but I was also not sure if it was all just in my head. But now my feelings for her are much stronger. Just being around her makes me happy.

Anyway, I meet her boyfriend, and he really likes me, he thinks I am the funniest guy on the planet, and a "Legend"...he's a nice enough guy too.

So, things kind of end there, with me thinking the whole thing is a non-starter.

I went away to PAX straight away after Leeds, and when I got back, she was in Portugal. I decided, sod it, I don't want to wait a year to see her again, I am going to send her an email telling her how I feel.

Then I had to wait 6 days til she got back from Portugal. Which was agony.

Eventually, I got a response. A pretty heavy one (1,500+ words), but the upshot is, she has been thinking of breaking up with her boyfriend for a while, and is planning to do so at some point next week. Then she wants to take things slowly, but feels pretty much the same way about me as I do about her.

So..."It's complicated", but I am very optimistic. We go to uni just over an hour away from each other too.

Edit: and that's probably the most personal story I have ever told "the internet"

I left all my booze behind when I moved house last night.

Naturally, I will be storming the gates to get it back.

New house = all kinds of ace, by the way. I spent this evening after work not cleaning up after anyone, nor living in their filth. And then I and a new housemate played GTA4, the highlight of which - by miles - was chasing a fat man down the street as he waddled very slowly away in terror and kept overbalancing, and eventually curled up into a ball, twitching piteously.
