I'm going to kick things off by banning the use of the world kid (incorpoating "kiddies") to mean child or children. If anyone uses the term, I assume they are a moron. It is detestable and while the past accusations of being an americanism are falsehood, one can understand why they came about.

Same one I always use - Podcast. There's nothing specific to an iPod about it, nor is it in any way 'cast'. It's an audio file.

Worse is, it used to be webcast before the iPod generation rebranded it. Cunts.

They were also saved to a file for later downloading sometimes. Anyway, what's the difference? If you save every single byte you've been streamed you end up with the original file. And you can stream "Podcasts". Infact it fucks me off if the "podcast" isn't downloadable quite easily.

"I could care less" only works if you use it in a really specific way, sort of "I could care less, but it would be difficult due to the fact that I care so little currently". Of course, most people don't say it like this.

Brilliantly, where I come from, everyone seems to use it to mean "to ignore". As is, you ignore someone and they shout at you "don't be so ignorant". Which is brilliantly ironic as they don't know what the word means. Woohoo. I saw a good viddie on youtube of some woman saying that to Busta Rhymes and him flying off the handle because he thinks she called him a thick blackie.

Yesyesyesyesyes. My estimation of someone immediately plummets when they use the word in this context. I've even tried to find another word to replace it for its intended use but the closest I've got is 'arbitrary' which isn't quite right.
If we can extend this to phrases, all this 'I'm loving...*noun*' gets right up my nose. Where did it come from? It's spread everywhere in the space of a few years, even to the BBC news, where that patronising wench Sian Williams liberally throws it about every morning.

I'd like to ban words created from a joining of two existing words if there's already a phrase that's appropriate.

I also really dislike words of the form 'double(blank)', especially if the result is a verb. If you think you're 'double(blank)ing', please rethink your word choice.

Well, if somebody was using two objects at once, or twice as much of an object as they normally would, they'd be double(object)ing.

If they're baking a cake, they might be 'doubleicing', or 'doublejamming'. ('Doubling up ingredients' is what they probably meant to say, but I don't like the sound of that either and I don't know why. I'd say 'using twice as much'.)

That's a bad example.

They're allowed their own language, but it does get in the way a bit. One that seems to have quietened down for the mo but always bugged me was/is
