Just noticed this today. According to Gamefaqs it's out in Europe on the 12th (ie. in 6 days).

Info on Eurogamer here : http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=160803

Screenshots here : http://www.eurogamer.net/gallery.php?ga ... _id=160802

I've got a feeling this will be crap, and those screenshots don't exactly inspire confidence.
I'm not even sure there's any point in re-making it as a video-game.

Still, I'm hopeful it turns out to be fun (the DS interface is perfect for this game if it's done right). Anyone else ?

Another game for a Nintendo system simulating an activity that is easily and more enjoyably done for real.

Hmm - cries "novelty" to me. Without the tactile feel of the players (mmm, players) and a good flick connection, where's the fun?

Hmmm...

Someone on a certain other forum seems to really like this game.

I'm going to try it on my R4 at least....

It does exactly what it says on the tin. It lets you play Subbuteo if you have no friends. Weirdly given the DS it uses "set the power" rather than "Actually move the stylus" shot power system.

Or to be fair, if you don't have the inclination to get the Subbuteo out, find a flat surface large enough for the pitch, lay out the pitch, iron the pitch, set all the players up, find out one of them is broken, find some glue, try to re-glue the broken player, give up and decide to play ten-a-side, then find out your friend went home half an hour ago. And that's just if you've got a Subbuteo set.

But then Dudley can't keep up his love hate relationship with the Rev

"Will somebody be Paul's friend?" - My fave Amiga Power caption to a picture of Paul Melerick playing Subuteo. On his own. Or was it Steve McGill? Erk. Memories... fading. :'(

Apropos of very little, but this seems as good a place to state this as any. It might just be me, but I genuinely think the website for The Samaritans only actually needs to show a larger version of NervousPete's avatar, as it could instantly cheer up the gloomiest of souls. It's the electricity pylon in the background that inexplicably makes it both life-affirming and especially hilarious.

Well done, NervousPete (or whoever did the picture, possibly Dimrill, is it getting obvious I don't visit here often enough?).

Aw, thanks Mark X. But the story behind my avatar is altogether darker than you realise!

I told Dimrill about my crippling fear of pylons for a great deal of my life due to...

PLUS EQUALS "ARGH! ARGH! ARGH!" :'( :o
