The HP Photosmart C4380 WiFi multifunction printer...



Has anyone owned or used one of these? I'm after a new printer to replace my rather crappy Epson CX6400, and this one looks perfect, but I was wondering whether anyone here has any thoughts?

I have the 5180, which looks similar (but has wired ethernet and not wireless). It's been very good to me. The six-separate-ink system gives good results printing photos and allows you to only change the cartridge that has run out. It has two paper input bays, so you can keep 6x4 photo paper and plain A4 in there at the same time. The scanner seems to work OK, and it can do novelty stuff like print photos straight from a memory card shoved in the front, which is neat.

Sharing the printer over the internet seems to work well. The full driver package is a massive 250Mb and comes with the usual tons of crapware, but you can install a light driver-only package if you want. It does at least quite neatly keep itself up to date, downloading little patches in the background from time to time.
