Comical's murdering axe is a bit like Trigger's Broom (or, George Washington's Axe). Five new heads, two new handles. But it's the same axe.

There are more dignified, less embarrassing (and cheaper) ways to attract less skanky 17 year old girls. I er, read somewhere.

Also, unattractive, as DeliciousAftereight said. And annoying. All that fucking screeching.

We obviously get a better class of 17 year old skanky bitches round our way... It's probably due to Cheltenham Ladies' College. :)

Cheltenham you say? Your local radio station is about to change hands. Rumour has it the new owners are going to have a team of young ladies in skimpy bikinis roaming your town.

You heard it here first.

Hey, I've seen what's on offer elsewhere, man. I've been to Newcastle.

Actually, thinking about it, they do seem to be somewhat less abhorrent around these parts than I'm used to, as well. The knuckle-draggers, too.

No. The group that own Star FM look like they have sold that station to people with more money than sense. Expect them to be bankrupt within 3 years.

A mate of Mrs Chris has recently married BBC Radio Gloucester's inimitable John Rockley. Who wants to touch me?

Chinny - Not so worried about Star FM. Could quite happily stand to see it go....

I can longer post on World of Stuart for some unexplained reason. Does that count as a ban? I can still log in, but there's no point in doing so, obv.

Imagine me being banned. It is the most unlikely thing. I am excellent.

A casual glance in that direction suggests you aren't banned, but you will need to cough up for the privilege of starting new threads. :attitude:

Hmm, I can't reply to threads already started.

It is strange rather than irksome, as I've been a member longer than most and only ever contributed sheer hilarity gold.

Let me guess, you would have argued your case but couldn't get the words out for wheezing? ;)

Also, I really must avoid the beeb's HYS section, christ, it's full of retarded knee-jerkers and is no doubt a representative spread of the UK, which just enhances my desire for entropy and global disaster.

I was once banned by a little wrestling forum.. they had a three strike system, but no actual rules document. It went like this:

1- I started a thread about some topic, (I think it was about how moves become downgraded over time, so stuff that used to be devastating finishing moves become set-up moves, then become normal moves, and how it could be injuring more wrestlers, as more dangerous moves were becoming more commonplace. Something like that) and a moderator closed the thread, told me to use the Search function, as there was a similar thread already in existence, and gave me a warning. Fairy snuff, thought I, I didn't bother to search, so it was a bit harsh, but fair.

2- I use the search function, find said thread, read it, and (as is customary) added a few thoughts to the end. Get a pm from a (different) moderator, containing my second warning, for thread necromancy, as no-one had posted in that thread for 2 months.

3- I started another thread, as I was a bit peeved. This described the obvious issue with what happened above. If you can't post a thread on a certain topic, because one already exists... but can't bump that thread because its more than a month old, how in the name of Odin are you supposed to discuss that topic? Guess what? Strike 3! I was out. The reason? Criticizing moderating policy.

Stupid yankee twats.

Clever but I do wonder at someone who scours HYS in order to moan about it. Constantly.

I don't understand the drama around "necroposting" except maybe when it's some deliberate childish thing to bump topics pointlessly. Sometimes there's a good reason to come back to an old topic- like you'd get a topic about something that's going to happen, or a movie is being made, then a while later (months) it's happened or released or whatever. It should be fair to return to the topic.

One forum I know I think automatically locks all topics that haven't had replies in the last two months. I think that's silly.

Hmmm...not too keen on the term 'necro-posting' as I doubt the afterlife shares the same protocols we do.

I like it when a dead thread comes back to life as often there's interesting points to read that might otherwise be missed. People shouldn't be penalised for not searching, though, especially if the thread was from wayback.

Of course, on some history forums I read it feels like there's only four or so topics that just appear in different guises in every thread.

I'm banned from Stu's forum after I called him out on his meltdown for messing things up.

I rejoined with the account "Russell-banned" to point out his lies of not deleting posts or not banning members, and that account was also banned. :)

I also got a temporary ban from cook'd and bomb'd: they have a dvd bargains thread which I thought would be nice to post some bargains in. As my site operates off affiliate links though, I PM'd Neil (the admin) to ask him if it would be OK. He banned me and told me not to spam my blog again. I responded by never logging in again.

I've just been banned from commenting on Kotaku but I've no idea why, unless they're applying retrospective bans; I once insulted someone in the comments but I got away with it at the time.

Anyway, I only made a few posts yesterday and I assume it's one of those that got me banned. Shall we run a sweepstake on which it is?

Quote:
Can we stop with the bird puns please? There's a reason some forums ban serial punners; to wit, it's INCREDIBLY TEDIOUS. I'm sick of the puns already and it'll take a lot to woo me back to this comments thread.

Having said that, I did get an awful lot of female attention that day.

Meh, wireless can go suck a fuck. We're an all-Homeplug household so whichever console we went for, we would've had to buy an extra one anyway (actually that's a lie; the cable modem and router sit right behind the TV in the living room so all we need to get online is an Ethernet cable, which ironically leaves the Wii as the only console we wouldn't be able to get online out of the box).

It's horses for courses really; in our case, the PS3 isn't automatically $50 better value than the 360 because we don't need wireless, and similarly there's no point in us going Blu-Ray anytime soon as we don't have the kit to enjoy it properly (stupid girlfriend not wanting to buy a new HDTV, grumble grumble).
