I'll be moving from the fourth to the sixth category in just under six weeks.

I am currently in discussions that may potentially lead from a personal move from category #2 to category #3 later this week. But seeing as I appear to be pathologically incapable of doing anything in a simple and easy manner I am not holding my breath.

I am in a state of flux between categories 4 and 5, possibly. To be more specific would jinx it all.

Been with mrsA just over a year, we've been living together for 6 months. I miss coming home, eating whatever off the kitchen floor and playing EvE until 2-30am.

And yet if you suddenly find yourself thrust into that way of life again, you rapidly find you didn't miss it as much as you thought you did. At least that's my experience.

Don't assume you'll always get sick of someone in under three years. As you get older you change less over time. At your age (hope that doesn't sound patronising), you're simply not the same person you were three years ago, and your partner probably isn't either. This is obviously less true from your mid-twenties onwards.

I started going out with my last girlfriend when she was just 19 compared to my 27. I don't think the age gap was as much of a problem as the actual ages involved, since I imagine that most of us pushing 30 can probably agree that you go through a lot of changes between 19 and 21, perhaps even through to your mid-twenties. To be fair though, there were a lot of other external factors making our union less than ideal at the time.

We met up again after a split of almost three months last weekend and we're now thinking about giving it another shot. This is slightly troublesome in my mind because, on the one hand, I absolutely still fancy the pants off the girl and she seems a fair bit more mature than when we first met. On the other, many of these 'external factors' still have not resolved themselves satisfactorily and I imagine us getting back together will piss one or two people off, not least my father, who I currently have to live with.

Like I say, I can never do anything in a simple or easy manner.

I'm sorry that t has to be me to point out that in half of those pictures he has a beard and in the other half he doesn't, as well as the fact that he is dressed differently on both occasions and so that sequence is nonsense, funny as it is.

The more I think about the external factors I briefly mentioned in my post about potentially getting back together with my ex, the more I start to hope that the world really will be swallowed up in a man-made black hole in 9 days time. Don't let me down, mad science!

Hey, I was pushing 22 when I noticed that, mate. So far in almost everyone I've observed, the ages of about 17-20 are the most massively fluctuating in terms of generally personal development. 'course, most half-wise people change pretty significantly every couple of years even after that, probably right up to their death.

That said, my longest adult relationship so far lasted about seven months. On and off. Mostly off. Humbug.
