Having just about managed to upgrade my PC, I now have spare shit. Namely.

Asus motherboard
Fitted with:
Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.2ghz
1.5gb RAM
Wireless network card, PCI

I also have the GeForce 6800, but I believe Sinister Agent wishes to bag this in return for a box of star bars ;)

Anyone interested in this stuff? To make a working PC you'd need a case, a graphics card, and a hard drive. All relevant manuals/drivers are kicking around somewhere. My office is currently an explosion of discarded packaging and unused PC components.

A long way shy.

Unless you mean the postage.

That's some pretty good gubbins to build a PC from, I think. But not worth £150.

New prices:
Athlon 64 3800+ - £16.56
Random ASUS motherboard - £29.99
1gb Crucial ram - £13.00
wireless card - £7.99

£67.54

£70 + postage would do it then, I suppose :)

I'll do you an amazing deal whereby I'll send everything to you first, so you can plug it in and confirm it all still works, before coughing up. Nowt more embarassing then sending off a load of stuff only to find it's buggered itself in transit.

Paypal reveals it was someone called Kevin Bufton.

In all seriousness, I couldn't give two hoots except I really wanted to play the 7800 version of Commando.

Right then, further to this, I have taken my spare components below:

Asus A8V motherboard
Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.2ghz
1.5gb RAM
Wireless network card, PCI
AGP GeForce 6800

A put them in a brand spankers PC case, along with a new 80gb Seagate hard drive. I've put it all together, tested it, and it appears to work. I've also formatted the new drive into a single 80 gig partition. I've also picked up a new USB keyboard and mouse for it, which will be included.

I was also going to include an old pioneer dvd-rw, but a quick test shows that it's dead, or rather, it wouldn't boot a windows boot disk , so a cd/dvd drive is still required.

Apart from this, it's a tidy complete box, and is for sale.

Ace indicated the original stuff was worth about £70, and now includes the gfx card, and taking into account thecost of the new stuff I''ve added today I'm probably looking for something around the 150ish mark.

You should mention it comes with a years worth of angry 24 hour phone support which consists of you verbally abusing the person who purchased the machine whenever they call. Or just being put on hold for 4 hours before speaking to someone with a ludicrous Dutch accent, like the old days of phoning Packard Bell.

"Hello crazy dude, this is Packard Bell. Sorry for the delay but we've been smoking the dope".

Incredibly I've just found another motherboard (Asus SK8V) that still has a processor in it. A bit of cleaning suggests its an AMD Opteron (AMD Opteron 142 (1 WAY) 1.6ghz 64 Bit Socket 940) that I bought in 2004sh. It comes with 512mb ram (Crucial 512MB DDR 400MHz/PC3200 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL3 ) and another AGP graphics card. I might have to test this and see if it works :DD

Aye, but I think my offer is a fair one, seeing as you've been hawking it around here for 10 weeks or so, and it's second hand stuff.

£70? Given the new case and hdd cost me over £50, I think I'll pass on your lunatic offer. £140-150 for a complete PC of this caliber is more than reasonable, so I suppose eBay it is.

I'd stick it in the local free-ads. Ebay is rammed full of PC's like that.

True, it's been a while since I sold one here and all I can see are BIN's for tat bottom-grade systems touted to sound good. I've listed it now anyway - if you filter out the crap you can find the genuine listings made by people like me.
