Quite a while and it's tricky to work out exactly as I keep a couple on the go at the same time as there are periods when I need to 'walk away' due to getting too close. In total work time, it's about a month or thereabouts, spread over a few months usually.

Sadly, no. That's the controller's decision, the nearest I come is calling signallers up and punching into the computer that a train will be failing to call at several stops to make up some time. The whole thing is a stupendous example of the monkeysphere at work though: half a dozen people sitting in a room, making decisions that affect thousands of commuters.
