You're right, of course, and I knew it ages ago, just never got around to changing the title of the file :D

Quite a while and it's tricky to work out exactly as I keep a couple on the go at the same time as there are periods when I need to 'walk away' due to getting too close. In total work time, it's about a month or thereabouts, spread over a few months usually.

Sadly, no. That's the controller's decision, the nearest I come is calling signallers up and punching into the computer that a train will be failing to call at several stops to make up some time. The whole thing is a stupendous example of the monkeysphere at work though: half a dozen people sitting in a room, making decisions that affect thousands of commuters.

"Can that 2D52 to Bargoed?"
"Yup, and run 2R14 nonstop from Queen Street to Caerphilly."

You are hard on yourself. I'm sure it can all seem a bit disconnected from reality and that but on our line (Surbiton and environs-Waterloo) the re-routing always makes sense to me. Though I do pride myself on looking at the big picture rather than worrying about whether I'll be five minutes later.

Relatedly, it rarely matters what time I get into work as I'm an IT trainer at a mostly evening university. No prospects, sometimes a bit dull but I love the freedom and will struggle if I ever move and have an actual start time. Expect teenage-level rebellion and sulks.

I is unemployed at the moment and it's great :DD .

Well it was great until the recent unpleasentness :( and now I just want to go back to work, which is a shame as I've not used up the monies I set aside for being all unemployed and attached to the fun square ?:| .

I'm sitting in a data centre, watching the UEFA Super Cup.

It seems strange watching a football match on a Friday.

I'm sat in an office on a Saturday afternoon pulling together copy and images for holiday brochures. And, for light relief, posting in the thread about crisp and banana sandwiches. (Not crisps and banana on the same sandwich, you understand. Though that could work, perhaps...)

I am booooooooooooooooooooooored. (In tomorrow, too. And all next week. What's the EU Working Time Directive again?!)

No more than 48 hours averaged over something like 17 weeks.

And if you ever get anywhere near you can Opt Out anyway.
