The romancing mini games are annoyingly hard this time round.

A-ha! So it's not only that I am fantastically inept. I am worrying at how hard the 'large' animals will be if I can't manage the early ones ?:|

They're buggers. My wife just makes sure she has a lot of money and just retries until she gets it.

I just got an email saying she'd managed to get a Bonboon wildcard, which must have been hard. I'm proud of her!

Master romancing Bonboons is great going, Rev O! :DD

I am having a newt problem.

I am trying to romance my newts, but they keep getting stuck. I have had to sell off quite a few as they keep getting just stuck to the floor, and then they keep sighing and whimpering and it bothers me :(

I am finding it hard to get to the magical seven because I keep selling them off, though I am going to just have to leave the ones that are stuck in that position until I have romanced enough to get the Master romancer award.

If you look at the picture below, there are two stuck Newtgats. One now has a plant growing through his body, the other one that is stuck is at the very bottom of the picture (the one with the wide eye). Currently four of my six newtgats are stuck in this way. Anyone else have this? All other species seem to be fine and no matter if I cut down the plants, level the ground, fill in the pond it still happens, even though they are unobstructed by any item.

Is this just a problem of mine alone, or has anyone else had it happen? i have looked on all the VP forums and nobody else has mentioned anything like it.

I had to breed yet more newtgats in the end, but it was for a good cause, for now I have...

PENGUMS!

How cute and funny are the pengums?!

I'll tell you how cute and funny - THIS CUTE AND FUNNY!

Here's a picture I took of a penguin trying to hunt a newtgat at night by tiptoe-ing up behind it. The newtgat kept hearing him and it took about 20 minutes or more of real time until he managed, but worth ot for this snap I feel. Look at him tiptoe-ing and the newtgat just at that moment noticing him out of the corner of his eye...

Image

Anyway, somehow it appears to be past 2am. Oops :S

Hahaha! And I thought I was bad! You could use Pingu as your Pengum count towards Master Romancer. :)

Bah, I want to play this now but am going to be out for most of the day! :(

I got it, even though I was doubtful about the difference between it and the first one.

The price may have swayed my desicion.

So what are the differences? I've been playing the first one in parallel to most of you playing the new one, and everything you're saying seems to be relevant to my game, too.

Pingu is awesome. :D

Elaine wants to find the first one herself, otherwise it's cheating. Apparently. She says she might tap you up when she needs a mate. I really hope she means for the penguin.

She's CentricDolphin, for reasons that passeth human understanding.

Just recieved an email with the frankly ludicrous play.com 'free pinata cards' in it.

They are not printed, they are not cards. The invoice even said that they were shipped with the cards. Anyway, one of teh cards is this:

Why?

It did say on the main page that you would have them sent via email. That's crap though!

Just seen this on the front of one of Chloe's nappies. Buzzlegum!!!

So I decided to try the local Morrisonses to get a copy of this after Play FAIL to deliver mine. They've all sold out by now :'(

hmm there is a viral achievement in this game which involves someone sending you a 'famous pinata'. you cant scan it or cheat it, it has to be sent. consequently it's lead to a glut of posts on VP forums. if I get it I'll pass it on around here.

Oh super, I'll keep an eye out and do the same!

Oh - what if all the 'famous' Pinata die? :S

also, does anyone have a clue as to what the 'take a 'special picture'' achievement involves? i have taken a picture of twin wildcards, professor pester smashing and eating a pinata, a pinata doing a magic trick, all those things but no joy.

I might finally get this, after this thread from a Mimi-esque player on GameFAQs who has figured out a way to glitch Professor fucking Pester and stop him ever entering your garden and breaking your stuff again (that doesn't involve the Dragon or mardy Rhino). Hint: Build a fence where he enters.

Honestly, I have been completely put off the game by the thought of having to constantly appease this cunt or have my pinatas smashed.

I also noted with some concern that you can only get the Amber once, and that it's entirely possible for visitors to the garden to nick it.

Hmmm, I didn't know that about the amber.

I have to say, I have only had professor Pester smash one of my pinata, so I don't think he is THAT much of a problem, but I put some decoy pinata up anyway and have only one more Parmadillo to sacrifice to the rhinocerous, but I'll definitely try the fence thing tonight. Professor? can't even work out how to walk around a fence? Pssshhhh :D

I think I may have managed this accidentally. He visited twice early in the game, and since then has been grumbling with a ruffian by the side.

It's getting quite annoying, and I now have his grumbling all the time and it's not like I'm lacking in money to buy decoys. (At the moment, I could buy 350 of them, and already have a rhino)

Apparently (as I don't have it yet) the dragon will deal with him, but Pester runs around on fire he might damage buildings.

And while the Rhino does the job as well, it needs to be kept happy as otherwise it goes on a destructive rampage of unhappiness.

Still, it's nice that you're able to thwart Rare at their own twatty game.

Any god/building game that repeatedly sends an invincible character into your little realm to break your stuff is twatty. At least stuff like SimCity and Transport Tycoon lets you turn the random disasters off.

I must admit constant visits from Pester et al have made this game far less enjoyable for me. I'll try the fence thing though.

Let us know if it works! Remember the 'end caps' on the end of the fence are apparently very important.

I tried it with a new garden. It worked even after I removed the fence. Both Pester and a ruffian are now just sitting by the edge doing nothing but grunting.

irritatingly I wasnt given the famous pinata but rather invited into someone's session who unpacked it, packed it and sodded off.

nice of them to catch me but bah that I couldn't share it.

I posted in the threads on gamefaqs and xbox360achievements and they sorted in a few days. Get on there!!

I have every animal bar two sitting in crates. Your crates will not impress me.

The last two I'm working on (Well, by working, I mean leaving the xbox on playing the game by itself in the hope that my miners aren't useless. And also getting the local multiplay acheievements at the same time)

I'm determined not to have to use the camera to cheat this game, but I am running out of patience with them.

Now only one remaining. The one U just got only needed 3 hours of tedious waiting (I got the couch ach. at the same time, so yes, three hours of doing nothing. Weeeee.

Edit: Now 0. The last one was a bit quicker, thankfully.

Edit 2: And now finished all challenges. Only 3 acheivements remain. One involves winning 10 of the (absolutely awful) races, one involves playing with 4 people, and the last involves badgering complete strangers.

In conclusion: It's VP1, with a few added bits that don't really warrant paying full price again.

I think I may be a little confused, I've built the fence all along one side, but then my workers couldn't get in, so I put a gate in, and Pester comes through that. ARGH!!!

i'm currently on the last one, now. am sat in a garden with 3 people. hoping to not get kicked.

10 races. use a whirm. go to the 2nd bottom row. make sure you get the crate. after the 2nd one, stay on the bottom row and shoot anything that gets in your lane.

edit: I did the horrible couch socialite one whilst watching the F1.

edit2: fucking hell, im about 20 mins into this hour of 4-player. I hate everyone in the VP community.
