Hello,

I waited a week to post this subject because there were only three entries for the last, and I didn't know whether to bother or not, but I am posting this and giving it a three week run that ends after most people's summer holidays and school breaks, in case that was having an effect on the entries.

If there aren't many entries tot his one, though, I may pull the plug on it, so just see how it goes. Hopefully there'll be a few more people taking part.

OK, because I wasn't sure whether to launch a new topic I have neglected to actually ask someone for an idea, so this extended length challenge is based around the very first thing that popped into my head, and that is Beginnings. I really have no idea what that means to people, but then maybe that is the best kind of subject - make of it what you will.

All the usual stuff:

Here's how to take part:

1]Take a picture, based on the theme (think direct, think laterally - it doesn't matter - it's your idea and creativity that people are looking forward to seeing)

2]Upload it anonymously to the Eggwan account (obviously, don't call it 'Mimi's picture of beginnings' or anything that makes it too obviously yours)

3]Try not to make it too obvious that a picture is yours in particular by announcing your upload, etc.

Upload your 'BEGINNINGS' photos to the same-titled folder in the Eggwan Gallery, (here). (If you would like to take part in this contest and do not have the username and password to sign in to the Eggwan gallery for anonymous uploading, please PM me for details*).

This contest ends at Midday on Monday 15th September. Good luck and happy snapping!

(*PM-ing me, rather than asking in-thread just means that I am much less likely to miss your request, but it also means that it is far less likely that people will know which picture is yours by the fact that it was uploaded a short time after you asked :) )

Oooh, nice choice of subject. I have no idea what to do for it, but there are possibilities.

If there's a photo of a circle jerk in the competition, I'm banning Gaywood.

I haven't had any time to do any of these lately sorry, Mimi.

And I was definitely going to take part in this one, but can't now. Again, apologies. I'll try and submit something in the future if it's still running.

I wouldn't get too disheartened by the lack of entries, Mimi. It seems awfully dead in here at the moment in general. Hopefully things will pick up again in the autumn-time.

Yeah, maybe you are right, Myoptika. I thought I'd leave this running for longer, and until after the summer/school holidays in case that was a factor, too.

Still, I'll see how this goes to judge whether it is worth continuing.

I am absolutely commited to entering this one, after missing the last two. I went out snapping on the weekend actually (although didn't get anything suitable yet).

I have a tendancy to be rubbish at abstracts, and a lot of the recent ones have leaned in that direction.

In that case, I think the theme should be "Craster". That's nice and not abstract.

That would be one way to guarantee the end of the photo competition.

The entries so far are very few, but quality, I like them all.

There's still just over a couple weeks left on this extended contest, but please, if you are going to enter or would like to take part, please don't forget.

Please please please, thankyou.

I'm so glad this contest ends after I come back from Barbados, I'm hoping there'll be some good photo opportunities while I'm out there :)

I keep forgetting people aren't nerds. I mentioned it all in the EVE thread, sorry!

Basically: I had a motorbike crash last week, into a tractor trailer blocking the entire 60mph road. I got off lucky with just a shattered elbow, a very sore chest, and heavy bruising over my body. Had a 6-hour operation and 5 days in hospital to put me back together again, so all should mostly be good now, albeit with a strong chance of serious arthritis in the future, and about 70% mobility from here on.

Ah well. Thanks for the well wishes :)

Thanks a lot, Mimi :)

I've made great progress so far. I just can't wait to get this cast off so I can give my arm a good stretch. Hopefully this will be in the next week or two.

I'm quite eager to see my x-rays, and see how hideously big this scar is going to be, too.

I keep reading this thread title as "Pornography Challenge". You're lucky I'm at work else I might have contributed, and then we'd be in a fine dumpling of a pickle.

This involves some brain process on my part and I haven't worked it out just yet (the phone that is, not my brain) it does take fantastic pictures though! Plus it's easier to carry :) I'll have a fiddle round tonight and see if I can send something to my email from it

Can I text my entry in? I have a very good cam on my new mobile phone. The new camera is a piece of shit and I still can't find the old one's lead, so I assume now the cats have eaten it...this will bring about a hefty vet bill :s

I am still camera death... now even to the point whereby my mere handling of the fiancee's camera has caused it to vanish from existence... possibly into one of those mini-black holes I heard about on the tellybox.

Rest assured that I will be purchasing a digital camera of some sort when on holiday in America, and when I get back, photo contests will finally be entered. Oh yes.
