Thanks to Myop for some suggestions of new games to try.

Top Spin 2 (2 or 4)
Call of Duty 2 (2 to 8 )
Test Drive Unlimited (The Dimrill tells me it's 8)
Shadowrun (2 to 16)
Perfect Dark Zero (oh, who cares?)

Five votes, 1 - 5, don't have to use 'em all, etc etc.

GO!

Count me out, I have none of the above. Except for PDZ, and if you vote for that, you're a mental.

The only ones I own are Top Spin 2 (bought because of BeeXers going mad for it) and Shadowrun (bought because it was cheap).

I'm looking at picking up TDU second hand tomorrow, though, as it can't be much more than a fiver these days. And I'm sure I can borrow CoD2 off my dad as he has all the bloody things.

I own PDZ too, but that was a present. Woo, presents.

Isn't TDU a bit fiddly to join up to the same game? I've not tried it multiplayer but I remember reading that somewhere.

Also.. is Shadowrun any good?

It's annoying to get onto the same server instance when you're just freeriding, but you can all join up for races with no issues.

If we go with TDU then we should do the inter-club races for ZOMGCHIEVEMENTS.

Hunt down and kill the person who gave you PDZ.

I tried the shadowrun demo, thought it was quite neat, but the complete lack of any single player put me off, since it doesn't look likely to get much multiplayer shenanigans around these parts. I've already said many times why I'm not buying TDU (incredibly clunky multiplayer system), and I think CoD4 is enough fish for me. I prefer my FPSs to be a bit less trying to spot a browny-grey man against a browny-grey background. With snipers.

TDU is a nightmare to organise a meet-up on. A nightmare. Plus it's 8 max Sheeps. Here's hoping the new dash for the eggbox makes it easier.

5 points for Top Spin 2.

Also, put Table Tennis back on there next time. That was actually quite fun.

So totals so far:

Top Spin - 9
TDU - 8
CoD2 - 4

Is anyone else going to vote?

I got TDU in Gamestation today, and I also haven't played the TopSpin 2 online I got either.

I'm happy with either of those, although I usually don't actually add a vote in myself, I may do so this week.

So Top Spin wins, I guess. Do we even have four players for this?

Watching the end of the Sear's Point race now, they REALLY need to do an Indycar Series 2008 with the road courses.

Yep. Apart from the last-gen graphics and lack of road courses, IndyCar Series 2005 is pretty much spot-on. I urge you to dig it out from somewhere!

Well, as no one showed up at all this week, I'd like to think we'd give TS2 a go again.

I had it (or possible the older one) on the first Xbox's HD.

Maybe I'll buy a copy from somewhere.

I would have turned up if I'd owned TS2. In fact, I'll turn up for anything I own, as the prior two Mondays have been somewhat of a laugh even if I was shit as the games.

I must question the logic of trying TS2 again as per Myoptika's suggestion, considering no one bothered to turn up from the gist I got.

I just think the forum's a bit quiet at the moment. I know of at least three people who probably would've played TS2 if they'd been around. Dimrill, Metal Angel and Curiosity all have it, that I know of.

I won't be around next week as I'm on holiday anyway, so play what you like. :P

*EDIT*

Also, two weeks ago no one turned up for Forza - we had a full house next week. Doesn't mean we should scrap the idea.

It probably didn't help with it being a Bank Holiday yesterday either. I keep having to remind myself that's not Monday today.

Yeah, totally forgot it was Monday yesterday. Oops.

I thinkwe should do a new poll. If TS2 wins, we play that, if not, we don't.

:'(

I can't have them removed. It would drive me insane, since I've always had a strange feeling since I was small that I would die while having my tonsils removed in a hospital. So if I had to do it, I'd probably die of a stress-induced heart attack before the scalpel could get near me.

Gah. Gah I say.

Obscure Night X was a bit of a balls-up all round, not least because I forgot it was Monday.

HOWEVER.

Next week I shall be (hopefully temporarily) unemployed. Which means I won't have to go work. Which means we can start a bit earlier.

I'll keep the current poll running and we'll say that the Monday coming (1st Sept) is Obscure Night X. Everyone's vote still counts if you've placed one.

I know some people have decided to not play on this one as they don't own any of the games but I think it's fair that the more obscure stuff does get a run. That's the point, after all. I've bought Top Spin 2 and TDU and dammit, I'm playing them! :D

How's 9pm for everyone? Later, earlier, fuck it, I'm flexible.

Myop, if Top Spin wins and noone else plays we'll just play singles. ;)

Yeah sorry about last night, but as my 'IP conflicts' thread testifies, I couldn't get online at 10pm. I personally won't be around next Monday as I'm on holiday, but Dimrill's back, hopefully Meaty will be on an earlier shift next week and Curio will have risen from his deathbed like the proverbial phoenix.

That's if the votes don't change. You might have to remove mine to make it fair.

Actually I read the thread and I saw you online, sitting at the Dash. But you weren't responding to messages, so it could be that Live was just being a munchkin for you rather than a setup fault.

We'll see how it goes.

Out of interest, do original Xbox games work ok on Live through a 360? It'd be fun to try Out Run C2C for example.

People need to suggest more games, if nobody has or wants to play TS2.

Heck, I'd be up for more Flatout:UC if we can't agree on anything else, as that's usually a giggle and gets a few people online.

Yes, works perfectly well.

We had Outrun 2 on a poll a while back and it got very little interest though.
