No, but I guess a normal vajazzle just adorns the forward surface, the mons pubis if you will... a fabia, would require a parting of the legs for the full disco effect, which I would call it a very intimate vajazzle; not as intimate as a Cuterus, but moreso than your common vajazzle. |

Nice concept for sure, shame these were made at the absolute worst tail end of the British Leyland nationalised disaster-era that put paid to our home grown and owned volume car makers. “Build quality issues”, it’s fair to say. The engineering lives on, though: It's odd to think that the engine in the Exciting Rover also powers Caterhams, the larger version Elises and the 45's heater controls are found in Zondas. Oh, we were great engineers, sure enough. One has only to think of the Mini, the Comet jet, Blue Streak rocket and any number of other stuff besides. Nationalisation and the unions destroyed our ability to actually make any of it to any degree of proficiency though, unfortunately. It's as if EXCITING ROVER heard you! It started, ran like a dog for a while before cutting out. Restarting it was fine and it was lumpy before settling down. Cleared codes and ran it 15 miles and it hasn't happened again. Yep. The tale of British Leyland/Rover isn't a happy one, to say the least. I actually bought a Rover 200 (a 2 litre direct injection "base" spec diesel), back in 1999, in a patriotic fit of pique. Oh man, how misguided that was, what an absolute turd that car was (sorry Mali) Only the Mondeo was worse. |

I had a 627 Vitesse Fastback when I was 20, and I loved it to death. That's the one that was merrily idling away in the car park when I came back from doing some shopping, despite me having switched it off and still having the keys in my hand. |

You laugh, but the new clean air initiative that's being proposed means that my two elderly hot hatches (in which I do a combined 4k miles PA) are going to be taxed punitively because of their age. So, to drive my 18 year old Clio sport, with it's 2l engine off my drive onto the road is going to cost me £12.50 every time. If, however, I buy something made after 2005, with a 5l V8, I won't be charged. Not that I'm looking |

It's really tempting to totally ruin my family's finances for the next three to five years. Bloody kids It's glorious isn't it? Mind you, it has to be the V8 (not the Mondeo engine), and black - with extra loud, custom-made, titanium decatted exhausts (and remap, Stage 1+) for maximum swivel-o-meter annoy points. Bask in glorious contempt, it's great! I do! Shame we don't get the fabulous flat plane crank V8 Shelby GT350 in the UK, that's a *real* 'Stang. Any car that has a hooded cobra rearing up on the engine intake and steering boss is a default-win for me. No, Hyundai ain't making one of these babies any time soon, and not a washing machine electric motor or "fake noise" in sight neither. Not even a turbo. *This* is what it's all about; don't you just want to grab that great, black beast by its brawny neck and try to master and tame the snarling brute? https://www.ford.com/performance/gt350/ |

Droooool. Fantastic; that's art to me, more than any pretentious shite at the Tate Modern could ever be. These cars were conceived at a time of great enlightenment and bold optimism for the future, and it shows - in stark contrast to today's increasingly moribund, boring, emasculated, mean-spirited offerings, borne of far more pessimistic, doom-laden and paranoid times. Man, it shows. Driving one of these in '69 with money in your pocket with your girl riding shotgun - on a hot, balmy Californian evening, on empty, inviting roads; ripping up the tarmac, with not a care in the world. It must've been fantastic; I belong in this era, not today’s navel-gazing, self-obsessed, endlessly apologetic and puritanical mess. Hardly in the same league, but time to wheel the Harley out methinks; it's cold, but at least it's sunny, the sky is blue, it’s American, big and black, and it’s very, very loud. 'There's no replacement for displacement', right? |

It turns out the Skoda Kodiaq is pretty reasonable even in 1.4TSI form, at least for our needs, and the Superb Sportline 280 is a nice, gargantuan estate more suited to the squirt to 60 on country lanes than my 535d. Meanwhile Jaguar sent an email at 5pm saying our test drives of Epace and Disco Sport at 1030 tomorrow have been cancelled for vague reasons, soz. So yeah, jaguar aren't earning their extra 5-10k per vehicle here. |

Do you need the extra room or will a Karoq do? That gets the 1.5 instead of .4? You could also wait for the Cupra version on the Ateca and get 300bhp in the same size car. |
