I've just shelled out £200 for new doorstraps and £185 for a new cat (that hasn't been fitted yet). Add in £400 for a new clutch, £150 for new lambda sensors (which didn't fix the issue), £80 for a new ABS sensor and £200 for new front tyres and it's been an expensive first 10 months of owning this car.

This iRacing thing is getting out of hand, man.

You have to respect the detail level of the in-game purchases though.

Mine's tomorrow. Given that I've not driven it in 6 weeks+ and has a coolant leak (again) I'm not holding out much hope >:(

I don't think it was the same spring that busted, I think it was the one on the other side. Would just seem odd that when the first one went last year that they wouldn't replace both at the same time, but perhaps they didn't think to tell me that they often go in pairs due to being the same age.

Either way it's sorted now, and no longer sounds like I have a load of metal tent poles rattling around the car.

One time I took a car in because the clutch pedal was sticking every time I pressed it, and they diagnosed it as car mat stuck under pedal.

Fortunately it was in for other reasons as well*, and I just happened to mention that as another symptom on top, so it wasn't too embarrassing!

Might possible have told this before...

My wife once took her car into the garage as every time she turned right there was a massive THUNK at the back. The mechanic gave it a good look over around the rear wheels / struts etc and couldn't find anything wrong. When I got home I had a look myself and found my skateboard in the boot.

An actual conversation I had with an ex's dad, many years ago.

Him: "I changed a spark plug today."
Me: "Wait, just one? Why?"
Him: "Well, only the one was missing."

I don't think he was joking. He might have been, but I don't think he was.

Our Transit had a habit of shitting a spark plug out under heavy load.

Obviously we solved this problem by having a glove box full of spark plugs.

Ok, I'll have a go.

I'm thinking of sleeping with both Dannii and Kylie Minogue at the same time.

How's that? Do I win?

Sadly not. It is the "Black Edition" though, which is actually rather nice IMO.

Now I'm thinking of both Dannii and Kylie Minogue in a VW Caddy behind Argos in Blackpool.

Isn't a Bedford Rascal just some rather horrid little Japanese microvan with a Vauxhall badge cynically glued onto it?
I seriously doubt they have much to do with Luton or Bedfordshire lol.

The Rascal was a joint venture between GM (who own Vauxhall who own Bedford) and Suzuki. In Europe it was marketed at the Suzuki Super-Carry. I don't know how much of the design came from each "side", but both brands were built in Luton on the same plant.

They're fucking awesome fun to drive. We used to have a 4x4 pickup-body where I worked, and it was so light (and mid-engined) that you could get some excellent drifting going on.

It wasn't unheard of for nearly-complete vehicles to be shipped in, have the seats fitted, and branded as "made in the UK".

Oh don't get me wrong, I totally get that vans can be a hoot to drive stupidly, especially small, light ones. I have the dubious badge of honour for blowing up a Nissan Urvan. :D

That modded one you mention sounds awesome... mid engined 4x4, class!

It's not modded*, they're all mid-engined (and 4x4 was an option).

* Unless you count the fact that the front prop didn't exist
