I have to admit, I didn’t like it at first as it does look a little odd… but the more I drive it, the more I like it. It’s different which is fine for me. It’s also comfy, the stereo sounds good and has Bluetooth which I didn’t realise would be so useful.

I’ve seen one with Space Invader decals all around it… I think I’d like to do that to it.

*Might as well put stiffer anti roll bars in if they are being changed out, with a quick decoupler.

Literally third gear for everything? Parking, traffic jams, motorway? That doesn't sound healthy.

Not everywhere, but noticeably up hills. And there are many very steep ones around here (and few gritters, so AWD useful when going to/from Dick Hudsons)

I've had some experience with these bastards, it's a forester right? the springs go soft so shocks probably won't help. The real problem is that the springs you get from the usual motor factors are all too soft straight out of the box and the ride height is low again straight away so you can't use aftermarket springs. Subaru don't have any original ones left so you can't use those either. The closest we got to a satisfactory solution was to fit discovery springs which make it a tad too high and a little harsh but close enough. can't remember what model disco though, it was the older one with the staircase roof.

Equally, I could be just overly concerned as the back of the car has in it 2 isofix based child seats and a double buggy in the boot so it does sit a bit low due to the weight
