Tried that motors.co.uk one. Options are mp3 player, satnav, bluetooth.

If pretty much all of them have it, please find me just one site where I can narrow down cars by the features 'rear parking sensor' and 'cruise control'.

The problem is that nearly every car will have them available at some point in the model range, but you'd need to start looking at individual trim levels to see if they are there or not.

Yeah as long as you're after a medium-sized or bigger car then I'd have thought that all will have those things as an option. You might not find cruise control available on every little city car, though.

I'm assuming Russell wants this for second hand cars, i.e. what does this actual car have.

Yarp.

I guess there's no interest in making a database of these, because it would take too much time for each garage to update their own site due to the high turnover of the cars.

They'd get it sold before it was worth their while telling me if it had a DAB radio or not.

Your best bet is an autotrader search with various key words chucked in.

No need to worry about it anyway, I've got your back:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

Cruise Control is flat out because it will only do about seventy, and the parking sensor makes a "bang" noise when it's time to stop going backwards.

See you at the pit!

I've got that - "dial number" is the only one I use.

Pro hint: When the car reads the number back and then says "continue" you say "dial" to make it dial, not "yes" or anything.

I think I'll end up mostly using it to control the climate stuff because then I can say CLIMATE AUTO rather than having to remember what the dials do.

That will probably turn on the aircon too. You'll need "demist on" as well.

Finally got my replacement car. It is a Mk7 golf with 7k on it. It is fantastic.

The Adaptive cruise control, bluemotion and electronic handbrake, will take a while to get used to.

The split level boot seems a waste. Was looking at storage for the lower boot, and VW want £130... 8)

Beemer is back for the 4th time, this time they are actually going to replace the headlight, or so I am led to believe!
I have an automatic Focus as a loaner, it has no redeeming qualities. It's dog slow, yet did 24mpg on the way back from the garage over a mix of A roads and motorway. I can't see the point of it at all really.

Speaking of Golfs, there was a deal last week to get the new Golf R thingy for around £280 a month on lease. 300BHP and 4WD in a Golf, that would have been entertaining.

Also, speaking of electronic handbrakes, my BMW has one of those too, but it also has the option of it coming on automatically when you stop. Having that option on and trying to reverse park is hilarious, it's impossible to predict when it will come on and off, so you end up kangarooing around :D

Yes and the fact the engine turns off as well, this was rather odd at the first set of lights....

What year is your E65, Troops? You might want to get the parking brake checked out, the gears in the actuator crack and shatter. Some company in America does a replacement set made with uprated nylon or something, may be worth investing in.

2006. It works fine when you press the button and do it manually. The auto setting is known to be awful, it's ok if all you are doing is waiting in traffic etc... but if you have to do a lot of manoeuvring around then it can't keep up.

I generally don't bother putting it on at all anyway, as I know they are a weak link, and the auto box in park is just as good (especially as the parking brake is electronic!)

You might think so, possibly, but it would have to be night and day improvement over the Mk 6 R, which I've driven extensively and can confirm it's about as entertaining as piles.

Our Focus has an automatic hill start brake, which can cause some issues when you're not expecting it.

I drove a Transit with the same thing last year though, and it worked perfectly. The anti-stall they "borrowed" from Land Rover was pretty voodoo, too.

I did a confused quote on Sunday. AXA would do me for £90 less as a new customer than the renewal, and esure took another £110 off, for £348 instead of £546 renewal but £500 excess instead of £400.

Then I poked aplan and sky for callbacks. Only aplan bothered, and that's fine because they matched esure but for £250 excess, and with pre-assurance of it being fine to stick non-oem wheels on so long as they don't go over a grand.

Huh.

I can't tell what mark fiesta I have. The closest Google has helped is telling me that it changed from mark 6 to mark 7 in 2008, but the car is from 2008.

It's a 58 plate, any ideas about how I can research further than trying to plug different search terms into google or google images?

Find a fiesta owners club website.

Or even easier, just ask here and wait for gazchap or trooper to help you out.

Mark 7 only started production in August 2008 so I imagine you've got the Mark 6. Put a picture up of the front :)

Just got to work and searched for that Zardoz.

A big frowny screen came up, and now it emailed my manager, his manager, and the CEO and all of IT and everyone is looking at me and oh my god now a siren's going off.

I'll post a pic of the car tonight, cheers.

1,000km overnight drive recently was hard work.... But the Mazda CX-9 we've got now is big and comfy, it's a very good car. Styling is OK for an SUV sort-of-thing.

I think I favour comfort and ease of use rather than fast and fancy looking now.... Must be getting old.
