He killed Maddie? That's a bold claim to make!

I was speaking to a friend about Dawkins before.

I love his books (the biology ones, mainly), but from watching The Genius of Charles Darwin earlier today, I can't help but find him incredibly dull if you watch/listen to him.

I think he'd be a lot more persuasive if he wasn't so soft and boring. And the way he quietly turns purple in sheer frustration when people say "if I'm a chimp, why aren't I really hairy? lolz!" then nasally moans about them missing the point. He either needs to be less confrontational or learn to handle the confrontations without coming across as an angry little man.

Or he needs to swear more.

"That's not how evolution works, you fucking idiot. Come back when you have a clue what I'm saying" etc.

XS Malarkey, perchance?

He hasn't played in Manchester since that (non-)gig, has he?

I know a guy in Leeds who made a joke about being Maddies killer on a forum somewhere. 2 weeks later, the police stormed his house and he was arrested. Be careful what you say.

Am I the only person who is slightly disbelieving of this?

I assumed they weren't related items, just coincidence...

I thought the "be careful what you say" suggested that there was a link. Still, I could be reading it wrong.

However, what wasn't mentioned was whether they found Maddie in this chap's house or not. :)

The guy who runs the forum had the police round his flat first at daft o'clock in the morning, with them demanding the name/details of the poster who made the comment.

I'm not at all surprised when I heard all this though, as various run-ins myself and people I know have had with West Yorkshire Police have been unbelievable in the past too. ie people at free parties getting tear gassed and savaged by police dogs, and massive intimidation given when a police brutality video was doing the rounds at Leeds leftie meets.

Stephen Fry, obviously.

I used to know someone who did indeed have tea with Fry and apparently he's everything you'd expect and more.

I have many fond memories of us drinking coffee :P

A bit like the Mrs Doyle flashback of repeated "Tea, Father?"s, but neither of us are Mrs Doyle or wearing a dog collar. And it's coffee, not tea.
