Baltimore - great D, but it practically scored all their points. I can't see them beating...

New England - Must now be the favourites. I can't see past Tom Brady winning the Superb Owl

San Francisco - the dark horses despite their excellent regular season record. I don't know enough about them, but I reckon they will fall to...

New York - on a roll and very good against the Packers. Eli has been there and done it; I predict he loses in the Bowl though.

Which of course, means than it'll be SF vs Bal.

Well, last week I guessed the AFC wrong and the NFC correct. This week the opposite. (but both times I correctly guessed at being 50% correct.)

this week, I'm guessing patriots and giants, although I would much, much prefer 49ers and ravens.

I'm struggling to find someone to root for. Baltimore: Ray Lewis. Hate him. I'd root for the 49ers, but you know, Broncos fan. New England: knocked my team out, plus Hobo-Coach is a wanker, who still is adamant that he wasn't cheating, with the whole 'taping other team's practices' thing. So it looks like Jersey/A.

new england? think SF is a better team at the moment, NE hasn't impressed me all year..
(okay, so did the giants, but still)

Their tight ends have certainly impressed me.

Defence has been entirely mediocre at best though.

*shrugs* Hey, he won one more playoff game that I expected for the Broncos this year. I'm not going to be too hard on the lad. He'll get better.

If they can teach him to throw, he could be quite dangerous. But I remember all the talk of poor mechanics before he was drafted. Two years on and he's still got obviously shit mechanics. Either that or his college play was comical. Never saw it.

Okay, so out of all the possible permutations from the Championship games, we get the least interesting. New England vs Jersey/A.

Gregg Easterbrook's Tuesday Morning Quarterback column for ESPN. By day he's a lettered writer on Economics and Theology and an Editor of The Atlantic Magazine but during the NFL season he writes possibly the most interesting sports column in the world (and probably the longest).

Taken us ages to find a bar that will be showing the game tomorrow! Most places in Mississippi (we're right on the border) don't serve alcohol on the Sunday. Found somewhere in Tennessee a little further out that will have it on, and be serving beer! I'm jolly excited by it all, despite knowing nothing about the game or the teams.

At this stage I'm mostly interested in OK Go appearing in the adverts.

Yeah, I've been trying to shed my indifference as to the winner for the last couple of weeks. Looking forward to it, but I don't really care about the result.

Hokay, lets get the important stuff out of the way:
-Broadcast much improved over last year's, with Mighty Mike Carlson back in the studio.
-I enjoyed the hell out of the halftime show, much better than the last couple of years. Never thought I'd see Madonna shufflin'.

The game - A bit meh. It all seemed to be about mistakes rather than great plays. Right result in the end, with a tense finish. But it was only tense because neither team really took their chances to kill the game off.

I stayed up till half time, then when it was announced that the halftime show was coming up in 38 minutes, and the show itself was 30 minutes long, I bailed :D

At the end of the first half, I didn't expect the end result, I thought the Patriots had managed to pick themselves up and were going to walk it for the second half.

Unfortunately for the patriots, their defence kind of blows. And their recievers decided to start eating buttery food with their fingers.

I was expecting brady to pull off something fantastic in the last 57 secs, but it never came off. Still a fairly good game however, only one real big play and that was the manning 38yd pass. Still well worth watching!

The place we were watching it in shut at the end of the third quarter! Oh well... Still, I enjoyed watching the game (other than the amount of adverts!) whilst my friend enjoyed chatting up the waitress.

They're reporting manning to broncos.

So... Who will want Tebow now?

Jacksonville. Tebow is a hometown boy, and for JAX attendance is way more important than results at the moment.

Denver can sell high on Tebow without backlash if they can land Manning.

Seems a strange choice though...I would have thought SF would have been a better fit (having said that I thought he'd be going to Miami but it seems that no one wants to go to Miami).

Another interesting couple of days in the NFL. The fun story is of course Tebow getting traded to the Jets. How bad is the Jet's passing attack going to be with Tebow and Sanchez chucking it? I feel a bit sorry for Tebow though - he really did something special at Denver last year and didn't deserve to be thrown out. Manning is an obvious no-brainer choice though.

Other story is the unsavoury revelations at New Orleans and the draconian punishments that have been handed out. I don't have any sympathy though. I hate the whole trying to injure an opposing player tactic. How anyone can justify Pittsburgh practically destroying Carson Palmer's career years ago?

I like the cartoon of Tebow praying that Denver can win the Superbowl, and being answered with the news of the Manning trade on the radio.

:D

43, no age at all.

Season kick-off on Wednesday.

I have little optimism for this season. Tebow's heroics last season have granted the Broncos the hardest schedule for this season. It is brutal. We have Manning, but no-one's sure whether he'll perform to Manning standards, no-one's sure whether the Broncs receiving corps is good enough to allow Manning to play like Manning, and no-one's sure whether the traditionally undersized Broncos O-line can protect him.

Apparently Sky still haven't ironed out the TV deal for NFL. But people are hopeful that it'll be in place before Thursday... Bastards! I finally have Sky Sports and it might not even be any good! Can't stay up until 4AM on a Sunday night to get my fix.

My enthusiasm for the upcoming season has been considerably dampened by the Jets' relentless attempts at self-destruction, as typified by their giving a shit-ton of money to a shaky young quarterback then importing a QB controversy in the shape of a self-aggrandizing fundamentalist glorified fullback.

Wow, the BBC coverage is appalling verging on laughable. Why pay the money for NFL coverage to only hide it on the red button and then lend it the production values that QVC would be ashamed of?

This play is inspired. I don't know why more teams don't have it in the playbook.

Bengals move to 7-5, but still outside a playoff spot due to the Steelers beating the Ravens.

Weird that the AFC North is the strongest division in the whole NFL!
