Being a manly type, it takes a lot to encourage a salty tear from my eye. Shamefully though, the two songs that are most directly associated with my recent wedding never fail to make me misty. Strangley though, one's an Adam Sandler novelty song and the other's an icelandinc ambient piece about puddles.

That article's right about one thing at least. Johnny Cash's Hurt makes me bawl every time. Fucking hell.

I can't watch Titanic. I feel so sorry for that poor officer on the deck who has to shoot someone during the panic for the lifeboats, and this then so overwhelmed with guilt that he shoots himself. And then, the very last scene, when you go back to the ship and everyone is assembled back there and are alive again..

You know, I can listen to song fine, but seeing the video breaks my heart. It's his wife... she looks relatively young and healthy, but she died before the video was released, just weeks before Johnny himself. I can't cope with that.

Oh god man, the video.

Whoever did the cinematography on that video knows how to tug the old heartstrings

The obvious thing to say it when people break my heart I cry.

Gotta say that I'm feeling the tears over Hurt as well.

Other moments are the 'cloud plain' scene in Porco Rosso, where an Italian Great War airman is denied the death and heaven his comrades receive and the entire man overboard to Vaughan William's Theme of Fantasia by Thomas Talis scene in Master & Commander.

Actually, Vaughan William's Theme of Fantasia by Thomas Talis gets me crying every time regardless of images put to it.

Also - the final pages of Maus.

The theme music to The Littlest Hobo and American Pie.

I have to say I'm affected far more by the NIN version of 'Hurt', apart from the crashing chords at the end. Usually this is because I listen to The Downward Spiral al the way through, though.

The entire film of A.I.

Could do, but it'd have to wait until next Wednesday as I'm not in Wrexham again until then. I'm hoping that it won't cost more than, say, £250 to get it all sorted but I'm not too optimistic.

Yeah, it is the video that gets me. I prefer NINs version though. Muscially, the song that has always, always reduced me to tears is Pearls Jams "Indifference". I found that song shortly after splitting up with my first real serious girlfriend and really let my heart out to that.

Tears of joy are good. My wedding day. (And a bit which the wife hasn't seen yet, which will kill her when she sees it on the video.)

Watching Ray Bourque lift the Stanley Cup. My favourite ever player, 22 years in the NHL, five time All-Star had never won a championship in his life. He wouldn't even touch the Cup for superstitious reasons. And when Joe Sakic breaks tradition and hands him the Cup, Bourque is crying. So was I. Stayed up till 5am to watch it.

I chopped a red onion for dinner.

I've not seen that since it was on telly the first time when I was a kid. I don't know whether it's genuinely any good, but I remember it being genuinely horrific. That bird who impaled all the baby mice on a spiny wee tree was horrible. Shit happens, kids! B'oh! Grrr, I miss my soul already. My only consolation is that you were ripped, they're going for £20 in CEX. Make sure the soul you get isn't locked to a provider though. Each provider has a different contract, one you may not have, and whilst Hell is pretty accessible, ironically it is Heaven with the greatest firewall.

Yeah, that was a sanitised version of Foxes Feud, which was a really dark book full of violence, rape and self-sacrifice... They cut a lot of the horror out of the cartoons; particularly the voles and shrews being boiled alive in a swimming pool.

The book I refer to is The Fox Cub Bold, if you can find that and The Siege of White Deer Park do read them. They're a bit harsh, for kid's books.

In WALL-E Saw it again last night, and had a tear running down my face at the end. I actually got choked up at the start because my memory suddenly flooded with the realisation of what was eventually going to happen.

Also, watching Schindler's List seems to get the tears streaming down for me.

The first big weepy moment for me and my sister was Atreyu's horse being sucked under the mud and dying in Never Ending Story. *Sniff*
