I do indeed, but I'm short of the white tail fins so haven't built it yet. They are a really crappy design that breaks easily so I'm missing quite a few. The grey and blue variants are the oldest and fetch about £2 each - the slightly later white and black are more common and I've got a batch of 6 on the way at 60p each so I'm reluctantly accepting colour substitution until I manage to get a bargain in the other colours. There's loads of black ones for sale in Australia for some reason so I may just buy more of them. The other two bits that were easily damaged are the round legs and the 2x1 flat pieces with a ladder attached - both as used on that set. There's a slightly different grey ladder that's a current piece which is close enough and costs pence. |

Too rich for my blood. I seem to be cured, as my lego sets get sold. Still keeping my Death Star, but I'm happy selling many other sets, and look at the new ones with only idle curiosity, rather than the 'yeahyeahyeah!' I used to have. |

Bought 2KG of loose bits for my son as well as a junior start kit He likes to join in building with me and we spend hours My issue is I keep seeing models I think are cool and buying them "for him " Such as the one belowThen end up being too complicated or break too easy and I'm back fixing them every 5 mins |

A guy I used to work with is big into collecting the expensive sets like Death Star He told me he found a website that showed when Lego was making models end of life, he would buy 2 and more often than not selling one of them a few months later would pay for the other one. I still have a yellow electric train from the 1980's my brother is giving to me in a couple of weeks as he bagged all our childhood Lego as he had kids first. |

It's not a guaranteed profit like it used to be, but there's definitely money to be made reselling EoL Lego sets. The previous UCS Falcon was selling for upwards of three grand butthat was definitely an unusual case |

That was exactly how I started (though not with the Death Star) - buy two, sell one later. Then with the battle packs it quickly went to 'buy 4, buy 5...', till I had about 30 of the 8084 Snowtrooper set. The little ones are, I think better, in that you can take better advantage of any Argos 3 for 2s without going 'jeez, I just spent £200 on some star destroyers', easier to store, easier to post and not such a worry on the scam front - if each one more than doubles in value, you receive double (after selling fees), and overall make more. But Lego do put the price up by a £ each year or even more quickly - market forces in action, I suppose, as they spotted the first ones sold new for £7, then a few years later were selling for £20. So the next were £8, then 9, etc., as they recouped a bit of the increase in advance. It is less guaranteed, just as you say - sometimes Lego more or less re-release a set. And Lego is generally more popular than when they started doing Lego Star Wars - they were slightly in the doldrums then, so the first sets were routinely discounted heavily. |

No problems with customs - moneysavingexpert suggests never ordering more than $15 worth - I've only ever ordered $5/6 from one supplier. Wait times can be quite long, though always within whatever timescales (a month?) they give you. I just see it as an order and forget thing - order lots of things and just wait and see when they get to you. |

This month, I have bought 3 boxes of Lego. Assembly Square The Detectives Office The Brick Bank And now I'm totally addicted. Next on the list, is the cinema or maybe the Parisian Restaurant... There are also 3 train sets I want. I also saw the Millennium Falcon in the store yesterday and wow.... It's absolutely enormous. I was also very tempted by the Disney Castle. I like the bigger builds with lots of pieces. Next, evict a child so I have room for all the Lego!! |

They're amazing - the level of detail is something else. There's loads of scope for actually playing with them, too if that's what you want to do. I've been showing everyone who comes to the house "Look! Look! The bank vault locks, and there's a secret passage here... And look at this one, there's a hidden door under here!"  The Ninjago city set looks incredible... Almost 5000 pieces and it comes with something like 15 minifigures. It's more expensive than Assembly Square, which is to be expected now there's a movie series and it's aimed at kids but given the individual block and minifigure prices, it's still great value. Maybe my town needs a Japanese quarter... Asfish, no, they're all from the Lego store. I don't think I'd be happy with a copy, and it never even crossed my mind to go down that route - I'm happy paying Lego £150 or so for those, given the amount of work that must go into designing them and adding all the little details in. |
