Aye, £1200 is a bargain. Incidentally, do you have a photo of the boot space? I test drove one of the new-shape MR2s and the boot was appallingly small, I'm curious as to how big it is in yours.

I'll take a piccy tomorrow. It's not big but I wouldn't call it appallingly small. I could get a full shopping trip's worth of bags in there easily.

That's a gorgeous car. Me = jealous.

Frankly, they skanked it up with the MRS in the same way Nissan skanked up the 300ZX when they made the 350Z.

Have you ever driven a 350Z? Cor blimey guvnor, it's like pure concentrated awesome.

Now, if only I could find £56,100 for a Nissan GT-R...

Jeremy Clarkson doesn't seem to agree, though.

My mate Scott "Eggwan" (of recent EVE Online fame) just walked away from a deal on one because the garage were being wankers. He's driving a second one today, private sale from someone he knows.

We had this discussion a few weeks ago, but the upshot is that they're awesome to drive, but look like a big bogey. My friend has one, and it's nice once you're inside and you can't see it any longer.

This may be the thread that makes Eggwan finally sign up here.

Awesome to drive or not, I would struggle to get over the looks, especially compared to the 300ZX.

The Celica didn't get ruined when they redesigned it from the pleasing previous generation!

There are a lot of people that think the 7th generation Celica (the one I have) is pig-ugly compared to the 6th. I used to think the same, but it's grown on me.

In other news, I just saw a 2000 Lamborghini Diablo VT for sale for £21,000. TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND. For a supercar. Bargain.

Nah, not at all. I used to hate the way "my" generation of Celica looked, it just didn't seem "Sleek" like the name implied. The more I look at it though the more I like it, but that could just be owner's bias.

And obviously it doesn't look much cop at the moment with the massive gash in the side :p

Err, what? Let's do a comparison:

1982 Countach

Image
2007 Murcielago

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of 80s cars, but I know which one I'd have out of these.

I'd take the Countach any day of the week.

Technically it's a 70s car too ;)

That's not the issue (I happen to agree with you). You said it was the last good-looking car from Lambo, which is blatantly untrue. The Murcie is a good looking car (you could also argue that the Gallardo is as well, but not as much so).

Plenty of room for the penguin about town. Also I did at least half buy it because I liked the color.

Doesn't look like it'd be big enough to get my air rifle in, which is a negative (and is one of the big bonuses of the Celica), but that's far more spacious than the laughable attempt at boot space in the MR2 Roadster.

Heh, I was about to say that I think the Gallardo is the best looking Lambo, especially from 10 feet away in shiiiiiny black, with the roof off.

I was on dealextreme.com last night. Oops.

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2331 I bought a proper Joby one from ASDA, but I'm curious how this will go too- I will use it probably with:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2321 I'm not even sure if I can use this, and my sigma flash supposedly does slave anyway, but it's a hotshoe-tripod mount also so it will be useful for that.

I also bought a cable and crystal case for my dad's phone, and resisted the temptation to buy a new DS casing.

Oh that reminds me.

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12361 came through the post. I don't know how legitimate it is, but it has a little hologram and stuff (the packaging all looks like genuine MS, not like the pics on the site), though it is named in some chinese on the system. I used it to move my save games to the new eggbox, but I'm thinking of keeping my gamertag on it too now. Maybe some save games also

It's definitely not an original, Ace. Have a closer look at the packaging and every third word is spelled incorrectly.

That said, it seems to work OK.

Oh yeah, definitely - mine appear to work just fine. I think it leaves your original saves on your xbox harddrive, though (someone confirm this for me, purlease) so at the very worst you'd only lose the progress you made whilst you were away.

I am assuming that you have a hard drive, which of course you may not.

Have you just got a 360, Ace? I saw that you had added my Gamertag the other day but that you already had an impressive gamer score.

No, Pod, it was just bad English.

I was just rubbish at adding people. I tried the automatic addamatronic but it didn't work so I went through the list of peeps on the forum post and spammed some more people I recognized the names of- I think everyone I had already was because I had "met" them online in BEEX games.

I got an Elite recently so I had to move my stuff from my old eggbox drive. I used the "Move/Copy/Delete" option ("Move") for my saves and whatever downloady bits would fit. The rest I re-downloaded, or intend to.

Spotted a lone Hori Fighting Stick for the 360 lurking in Gamestation today -- ten of your English pounds, thank you very much.

Also picked up a bunch of games in their 4 for £20: Crackdown, CoD2, The Darkness and GRAW.

Ive just read a review on DX and someone says you can change the name fo the memory card to not something all chinese like in the systerm menu or something.

stolen:

Other Thoughts: When used in a 360, the name of the memory unit shows in chinese but this is easy enough to rename in the system page of the 360.

Looks neat, I wish I could have got away with butt hinges when I made a cabinet that sits above my TV with swing out shelves for DVDs. I used firedoor hinges as I was paranoid that anything else wouldn't be strong enough. However, I was hinging from the top and bottom of the shelves, not the edge because of the cupboard being in an alcove, which obviously complicated matters due to the lack of available options - it was either two inch brass brackets that would support about 20lb or FOAD firedoor hinges that would support 200kg and cost a fucking fortune.

Live XXL range is great! I also do my friends when they come over because they find it hard to dye themselves.
