Pay day! For me at least. Isn't it a great day? Who else got paid today?

Although for me it's more 'yay, I can pay bills!' rather than 'yay, I can buy material stuff!'.

I guess I did—my wages usually clear on a Wednesday. I can't say I'm too thrilled, though, as these last few months have been expensive.

Yeah, me too and with a backdated pay rise to boot. That'll just about cover the cost of replacing the washing machine that broke yesterday, the cunt.

Reminds me of christmas when I got £90 in cash from various people, and then the drain blocked and cost me £110 to fix. :(

Grrr, for some reason Cardiff Council pays its employees mid-month, which means that while everyone else is flush and partying I'm eating beans on toast, and vice-versa.

Plus I've just bought that Green Man Festival ticket so I'm extra poor. Double bah.

I get paid on the fifteenth. I wouldn't mind this, but if it's a weekend/holiday, I don't get paid until the next working day. Which seems a bit crappy - it was the previous working day at my old job.

Ours is 'nearest working day', so if it falls on a Saturday we get paid Friday, a Sunday we get paid Monday.

Self-employed. Bah.

Although I have had two cheques from clients in the past two weeks. OTOH, most of that will be swallowed up by the PAYE and VAT return this month.

I always get paid in the 15th, too. Although if it falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday, it's always the Friday before. But while that sounds good, all it means it longer until the *next* payday!

Sadly I have already allocated 89% of my pay to bills or other expenses already, and the rest of it I'll be keeping a tight hold of this month. Must remember to win lottery.

I am saving for new car-ness, and paying all the bills now Mrs. Grim... is on the cheap maternity pay, so there's not much disposable cash for me either.

Last Friday of the month for me. This does mean that my months vary in length quite a lot though.

Anyway, Huzzzah! Monies!

We've had a quick chat about it in the Bits and Bobs thread, but basically one of these (skip to 1:50 in to see the car).

Cor, it's a pretty pass when you can only afford to be building one kit car at a time. Being poor sucks, doesn't it? ;)

See also: when you get paid towards the end of the month and your employer pays you a week early in December so it's in time for Christmas. January is always going to be a bit of a stretch, but this can send it into the realms of poverty*.

*Actual definition of "poverty" questionable.

Oh my.

And here's me struggling to afford a new rear shock before MOT day.

I've fiddled with a few of my outgoings though, so hopefully funds will start increasing again now.

It fucking does. Obviously, if I was earning at my normal level I'd have someone building it for me. Bloody kids.

It's not as expensive as you're thinking - I've already got the TVR and Range Rover bits, so all I'll need from them is the roll cage and body kit.

Same here. Promptly mostly transferred to the shared account; car insurance should be paid off by now but the new laptop is on there, as are flights. Both should be cleared by this wedge... just in time for the new discs going on the car (still not done because the garage wasn't answering the phone when I rang most of the last week, and BMW now say there are four listed part numbers for my car, even by chassis number; the garage needs to measure the ones on it already to narrow it down).

Our pay review is way late - all our paperwork was submitted dead early because apparently we usually get shouted at for being late. But now it's all been fucked up for months at the parent-company end - so 4 months to be back-paid so far. Which will probably amount to a tenner or something.
:hat:

I should be asking for a decent (ie better than inflationary) review really, I've more than proven myself since I got taken on last April. I never have the balls to do it, though.

Ditto and I don't get paid until Friday, but these days it's never enough. I'm not in debt, but I can't afford to do anything but the day to day stuff either. :(

Haha, I was about to post that they'd done an excellent job of erasing any trace of their poodle era. Would love to but I only have access to the net at work sadly. I can (sort of) imagine.

I got paid on the 28th, hoorah.

Im going to the cinema and for food tonight (take away only).
Also I am going to Shell Island near Cardigan bay next week for some fun camping.
My girlfriend has never been camping in her life, so it will be an experience.

In other news, my TV has been taken away by the repair man.
If it comes back and I am unsatisfied, I think I'm just going to fudging well buy a new one.

I've really got to start trying to cut back on my non-essential monthly spending.

Having a takeaway pretty much every night of the week really takes your bank balance to the brink of redness.

In other news, Batman was ace, but I didnt honestly think Bales voiceacting for the titular hero could get any worse after Begins...somehow it did,and he had a lisp this time.

Joker was _amazing_.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Story was good, some unexpected deaths. Joker left hanging, boo!

Disclaimer: I dont like comic books, films on comic books, superhero movies et al.

When I'm grown up and if we get round to moving house to somewhere with sufficient access for me to build a drive and a double garage, I'm going to finally use this book and make me one of those "Lowcost" Lotus 7 copies. It needs an old Ford Escort 1100 for the donor bits, though, and those are getting ever less common, apparently.

I'd sooner buy a Lotus 7 and turn it into a Ford Escort 1100.
