Well I have just joined in on the monday night GTA gathering. Before I go to bed I would just like to say I had a lovely time but would like to apologise for a couple of fuck ups to my team. I did alright at the races though.

Anyway, I hope this thread may caox other players into joining nights, whatever the game. It is always better to play with people who aren't complete strangers, in the sense that we all hang about here. This is the most welcome I have felt online ever.

So thanks guys I hope to meet up soon. I am "I Feel Asleep" if you want to add me as afriend.

Heh, we don't do "fuck ups" only "awesome" and "erm...slightly less awesome"! Glad to hear you had fun, though, as that was the intent - to get some new, fresh blood in to the 360 playing scene. Like I said to Jasmine, we're not bothered about how well you can play, or if we lose every time you're on our team; just hop on and play.

As an aside, please remember that most of the "regular" players have their settings set to only allow voice with people on their friends list, so if you haven't Friended everyone you're only getting half the fun, and people can't hear you. When you start a game just fire off an invite to everyone in the lobby.

Here's hoping you stick around, chap!

I like your gamertag - I wish I'd thought of it first.

Hi guys. I am now suffering a bout of insomnia. Thanks for the replies. I will add you as friends next time i am around. I just didn't want to be too presumtuous.

I really do think some people can be put off online gaming by playing with a bad crowd, as Runcle will agree with when we played last time. I know a couple of people who have 360's who haven't gone online because of their PC online experience and I would like to change that. Forza is my next target, although I am going to see Batman with the old Orange Wednesday thing this week. I might have a go at the time trials though.

@MetalAngel I couldn't believe "I Feel Asleep" hadn't gone. I was fully expecting to be "I Feel Asleep7945"

My Gold account never really got used until I started playing with the Bezzies. I generally don't play online against randoms, I just don't find it fun. At least half the joy of my online play is hearing Dimrill describe his latest dream in vivid detail, and then being told I smell by Mr. Dave.

You just can't get that calibre of personage anywhere else.

You know, this forum could get larger as a result of growing into a meeting place for decent 360 gamers, if we get a reputation. I think a lot of people have the URL in their gamer profile, and we've already enjoyed some CoD4 with that lot from off of usenet.

I've generally found playing online against randoms is pleasurable, if not comparable to playing with Bezzies. I suppose I don't play any specific game online very much, possibly Halo 3 and CoD4 more than others, and so I don't get paired up with the most annoying people, wwho usually tend to be fairly well ranked from being online for eternity due to no friends.

Well that beats my imaginary invisible land shark that I have for company while playing games. It can go drown for all I care. My other mates are racers (they both live in the same house) but I don't want them to be emasculated and then put off going online again. This could be helped by me not emasculating them. My god I write some drivel when I'm tired.

Obscure night sounds intersting to me too. But I don't have any "obscure" games, yet.

(Edit) Goatboy I agree. This place has got me into online stuff. I have only been online for a month and have played limited games with randoms. I found the experience OK but I felt a bit out of my depth and have occasionaly been abused. One example is I played PGR4 online with some people and literally nudged one person by accident. I said sorry. The next thing I know my star rating thingy has gone down from 5 to 3 so they must have registered a compaint. It made me feel a bit miffed to be honest.

All in all, that was the worst prank call ever.

You just played in it!! :)

Obscure night is Monday. A different game every Monday. "Obscure" in this instance means "Something not played a lot by Bezzies, and is reasonably easy to get hold of".

OBscure = not Call of Duty 4 or Burnout paradise. I don't think GTA4 could really be accused of being obscure.

I didn't realise I had wondered into obscure night. Is GTA really obscure?

(edit) By that I mean do you guys really not play it much then? I know you are all big COD4 heads but GTA must be good for relieving a little tension.

You came in after Dimrill and I had our "We've never heard of this." "Is it new?" "It's a game about stealing grandmothers using cars without manual transmission right? Gran Theft in Autos?" conversation.

Also, I may have abused you when you drove into a tree during cops and robbers. This was not to be taken seriously and was merely my light hearted way of informing you that you suck at everything*

Sounds like a good night; sorry I missed it.

Also, welcome to online multiplayer havoc, Steve! You may never be the same again...

I refuse to believe he just told you that you smell. What do you smell of, Sheepeh? That is the key question.

Hooray for enjoying ourselves! I was wondering who you were - glad you could join us. It's boring seeing Dimrill and Mr Dave's abhorrent visages every night, so I'm glad we've got some new blood.

Actually, he phoned me, said "Hello! You smell!...I'm not sure I got through to him!" and then hung up.

Dave is losing his touch.

Namely, Hang up.

Dave rang me up later on during the Exec Saloon race so we could have a chat about our PM shareholder meeting. He had to ask me how to hang up - hahaha!

It was that I got a reply after I thought I'd hung up that confused me. I only realised I'd been on the phone to you for much of the game when it told me I'd been disconnected.
