Hello chums. Who doesn't like to see a meaningless number increase? Really, that many of you. Be dears and fuck off out of this thread then. Right, now that those LOSERS have left, let's get on with business.

I was thinking of prodding a few people who like to see their Gamerpoint total increase easily into forming some sort of circle jerk of backscratching regarding certain games. For instance, Mr Dave's helped me out with Gears of War, and I've helped him out with Crackdown. Other than that, maybe this thread can serve as an "OMFG EASY POINTS!" type dealio.

With that spirit in mind, I've recently maxed out Crackdown after avoiding the stupid Street Races section as it is rock solid. However, I found an incredibly easy way to beat these sections and LO! I pass the knowledge onto you. Choose your race and start it off. Don't move a frigging muscle once the whistle goes for the off, instead jump out and high-tail it back to the Agency tower garage and grab a supercar. Drive this back to the starting line and park next to your original vehicle. Jump out, press <back and restart the race. HAH! The supercar will be right next to you! Jump into it and if you've maxed your driving skill out you can blast your opponents away with the onboard cannons. Best thing is, on the final lap don't go over the finish. Park back up next to your car and walk over the finish line. The supercar will be there for the next race on that map too.

So, games what need multiplayer cooperation evilly that I want to whore for achievements:

I would like to whore the 'Play 50 Ranked Matches' and 'Win 25 Ranked Matches' on Top Spin 2, should anyone wish to assist me in my quest. I am up for helping anyone with any games that I happen to own.

Ah, the Top Sin 2 thing appears to be ranked matches. That may prove tricky to achieve.

Test Drive could be done in about 10 minutes if we had two members of Team Maddie (me and one other) and yourself and one other member of your evil splinter organisation.

Doom, as both moip and DrMave know, is basically having a natter on the final level of episode 2 while the other kills them up to a 25 point frag limit.

Forza is fastest done with longgggg races... and ovals are the least painful way of doing so, sorry.

Top Spin is piss easy - as long as you know what the person who is hosting is doing (venue, etc) it's easy to find them, especially as NOBODY ELSE PLAYS IT ANY MORE. Slightly harder is the fact that you need to win 25 of the 50 matches, and there doesn't seem to be a way to reduce the number of games per set or sets per match in multiplayer. And then you get to grind through the huuuuuge career mode, with its unfair AI and cheaty rival!

It will be easy.

I would be up for all of these apart from TDU as I don't own it. I might own it in future, though.

I'd certainly be up for both Prey and Doom (time differences allowing, of course). I also just picked up The Club for cheap and wouldn't mind some online achievement whoring for that as well.

I'm not that bothered by the achievements, but I've disregarded the instructions at the gates of this thread and read it anyway.

I was quite late to the party with Crackdown & GoW, I'd just enjoy playing these online with people and I'll happily provide backup for anyone looking to rack up the points.

Also happy to help with any of the other games I've got although I can't think of which ones are ripe for whoring...Halo I suppose? I can help anyone tear through Legendary in a only a few hours.

Completed the game if that's what you mean. Just need to do races, orbs, stunts and ting.

Incidentally, do you need the DCL to impound vehicles? I remember spending an inordinate amount of time unsuccessfully trying to do this in the single player.

It appeared in one of the DLC packs, I couldn't tell you if it was the free one as I got both at the same time.

Yes...inspired by this thread I've loaded Crackdown again, and as you say, the free DL pack does state that I can impound vehicles. How the fuck do you do so then?

Go to your Agency garage and look for greyed out vehicles. Those are the ones you're looking for on the streets. Find one, park it in the Agency garage. And this isn't derailing the thread, exactly the sort of thing I was hoping for actually, helping folks get that number to increase.

When I go to my agency garage, all I see is the choice of the supercar, SUV or truck. Maybe I need to redownload the DLC again or something, it's definitely ticked in the main menu options though...

You can't change the vehicle type to Peacekeeper or Civilian?

Nope, unless I'm being monumentally thick. I get the choice of the three agency cars, going left or right, pulling triggers, pressing any other buttons - I don't get any other options. We are talking about the agency garage where I get the supercar etc?

I'll almost certainly not bother with the achievement once I learn how...but it annoys me that I can't seem to impound anything!

Anyway I'd quite to rip up Halo tonight, anyone want help with Legendary or the meta game achievements?

In another bit of news I decided to try and get something out of GRAW what I done bought a while ago. I managed to complete the training level. It's so bad. So very very bad.

Roight, Rog. When you're in the garage, go up to where it says "Agency" and press right to change the car class.

If you DON'T have the free DLC, I think that choosing your car just means their physically being presented and removed on the elevator thing in the garage.

If you DO have the free DLC, you should have a separate menu the pops up with three changeable options: the first is the group of vehicles (Agency, Peacekeepers, Gangs, Civvie), the second is the actual vehicle, and the third is the colour.

I think, in theory, all I'd need to do the harpoon thing is someone with the DLC and to go into a time trial where there's a vehicle handy.

Oim's willing to do that service for yez, man.

It should be a lot quicker and less annoying than that 'throwing me in a car through the rings' thing we did many moons ago.

Roight, I've just got the Body Armour achievement for Myp using my current city what I done gone and resurrected gangs on. We can also get Flippin Crazy if you haven't got that too.
