My friend is having problems making data discs on his software for whatever reason and was wondering anyone knew of any free software that will help him do so.

he says he wants it to burn avi and similar files to dvd and he cant figure out if this software will do that. will it?

Depends, does he expect to be able to play them on a normal DVD player?

na hes going to play them on his 360 I think.
anyway hes having similar problems with this I think, so I think its his actual DVD writer.

I use InfraRecorder. It's good, but needs you to run the Nero BurnRights (or whatever it's called) utility to let non-Adminstrator users see the drives. Most others probably need similar though, as it's an XP/Vista user permissions issue.

There's FinalBurner Free. A bad interface but seems to work well. It got me through the gap before Nero got their vista act together.
