Excellent, I expected you to be able to, really.

However (seriously now, please) - can you get at / see this attachment?

Right, that's fair enough. The solution was never going to be without it's downfalls.
I have fixed the problem! To the login page!

You know when you move into a house, and it's a lovely house, but there's a mad scientist living in the basement and he keeps doing odd things like replacing the walls with jelly? And you don't even slightly understand, and you just kind of assume that's a good thing, and leave him to get on with it?

Craster wanders off to lick the wall.

On a positive note, since it became possible to turn the newsticker off, the main forum page loads instantaneously at work.

No. Bill and Ted now share the same information. They weren't happy about doing this, let me assure you. Turns out I'm bigger than them, so now, bruised and battered, they do what the fuck I say.
You know which one you are using, it says right at the bottom of each screen.

You also have to be logged into Bill to read the information, which will help people who are blocked from some sites at work.

Hi there. I don't really have any cookie problems. So, er, which site should I be using?

edit: ah, Ted, then? Okay.

Indeed. However, irritatingly, reports are coming in of login problems on Bill.
Sigh.

It's just booted me out again. It's a massive improvement over your Roy "Chubby" Brown backdoor, however. I'd have had to log in about 20 times on that.

What causes these problems and why does no other forum suffer from them? Does the server hosting the forum have some form of Alzheimer's?

(the 'other site' is coming along nicely, and if I can find some time over the weekend, should be finished and useable by Monday. I am vaguely considering adding content management to it)

Yes. Run Fiddler or one of the header-browser extenstions for Firefox. Browse the forum as normal. The first time you reload a page and find you've been logged out, go and look in Fiddler to find out what it did with the cookies.

I tend to use IE for the forum at work. I'll test it in FF when I get home.

Fiddler will do the job very well if you use IE.
