First, take an ordinary Ikea table that is far too small to play cards on.

Image

Measure it and calculate the radius you would need to overlay the tabletop with a giant circle.

Visit your local timber merchant who will cut you a nice large circle, and give it to you in two halves.

Image

Buy some green felt from Mimi's friend on Etsy.

Image

Lay the felt over the semi-circles and staple the crap out of it with your new staple gun. Do not staple your finger as an experiment.

Image

Hinge the two felted halves together, for easy storage/hinging power.

Image

And voila, you have yourself a fairly authentic-looking poker table that'll easily accommodate up to 8 friends.

I spent far too much doing this.

Shame the felt wouldn't cover it in one go, but a good effort all right.
I built my own fish-tank stand and winch faring. Some things are easier than you'd think, and some are idiotically hard.

Indeed, I didn't realise when I bought it :( The felt is 45cm wide, and the table's radius is 55. Doh.

I'd hate to be a beat cop in CG's town. "Cause of death, sir? Well... looks like he was ripped in two by someone's bare hands". "Sigh.... Call SO19 and the SAS. We've gotta go call on Pete again."

I made my own scratching post for the cats, a few bits of wood and a six foot fence post all covered in carpet. It was great until one of the cats who is pretty much a panther pulled the whole thing over right into the back of my unsuspecting head while I was sat playing a game.
