I think someone said the other week that we should do the album covers fun thing, so let's.

Rules are simple - create a made up album cover from the following:

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

A little bit of MSPaint or photoshop action to attractively arrange the band and album title on the cover, and you're done.

Here's one I did last time round for anyone who can't work out what the hell I'm talking about:

I love this. It'll have to wait until I get back across to my office, however.

Yes - we didn't ever do it on here, we did it on WoS, so it's exactly the same.

I can't remember if I even posted mine before so I'm going to re-release it in a special bonus edition with an extra track just to say a hearty "HAH! Fuck YOU!" to anyone stupid enough to actually be a long term supportive fan who bought it on day 1.

I love how so often it seems like the image and words go together. I guess we see connections in randomness a lot.

Here's mine. In retrospect I should have done the text in the same colour as the make-up, but, meh...

I'd do one, but I don't think it's possible for them not to end up looking like they're for deeply pretentious, hateful britpop albums. :p

At time of posting the cat album cover has had 212 views, yet this topic is at 203 views. Why? Or is it just me?

I'd do one, not least as I got "The Quid" and "To vex your mind", but the pictures were boring and I can't be arsed anyway.

You viewed it nine times while making the image and uploading it?

No because I'm getting 233 post views but the pic is now at 273 views. Would it be counted as a view if it was linked else where? (I have not linked to it btw). Just worried about the bandwidth.

Uh - hang on. You've attached the image. That's uploaded it to the BeEx server, so it doesn't care about any file on your PC anymore.

Hit random article on Wikipedia ten times or something. Takes too much work.

Ah - sorry in my confusion I thought he was looking at something on his PC, thinking that the links were somehow going direct to his PC for the picture. I need some coffee.

Press "Print Scrn" with your masterwork in view, paste the clipboard into Paint, save as JPEG, bish-bash-bosh.

I suspect everbody cheats at this game because what nobody seems to want to admit is that the random results are resoundingly shite 99% of the time and it basically doesn't work. Right, my cheery-uppy work here is done!

I think the game does work pretty well. The photos on flickr that you get sent to are almost always interesting, as they're ones that have been favourited a lot. The ends of quotes often tend to be something that an arty-farty band would go with, and there are so many bands with random names these days... *shrugs*

Mine was genuine. I cannot speak for the others.

And I love the work Wullie has done to Dudley's.

:D

My random selection worked out pretty well.

And, from that Wikipedia page, Anna Mwalagho is an actual singer. So I think I should be awarded some sort of prize.

Same here. I didn't cheat except for the picture - I wouldn't have chosen any of the first five or so that came up, because they were all horrible ones of flowers and/or aryan children (and in my defence, the first two had text on). I would have gone with the third one down on the first page if I could be arsed, though, and claimed it was fair play on a technicality.
