Well, this has come round quick again ;) OK, we'll do this one the same as the last one. There are 7 choices. You may pick up to THREE you want to play, and in what order you'd prefer. I'll sort out the rest of the scores manually in a nice spreadsheet and give you score updates later on. To vote, either post your votes in this thread or PM them to me. Or tell me over Live, doesn't matter as long as I get them, really.

I've included a few suggestions and a few "casual" and board games so hopefully there will be something for everyone here. As usual you're free to post suggestions for the next poll too!

Halo 2 (May be changed to Halo 3 if ALL participants voting want it) (2 - 16 players)

    Outrun 2 (2 - 8 players)

    XBLAH DOOM : Deathmatch (2 - 4 players)

Sega Rally (lots of interest in this last time, if people want to show up) (2 - 6 players)

    Ridge Racer 6 (2 - 14 players)

    Undertow (2 - 16 players)

    Carcasonne (2 - 5 players)

Actually, I'd quite like to play Ridge 6, so that gets my vote. I think pretty much everyone has it on here now as well. And if not, it's about a fiver in most places.

Second vote to Sega Rally and third Halo 3 seeing as I haven't played it since CoD 4 came out.

I'll vote for Carcassone in first, Doom in second, and Undertow in third.

(BTW - what does the H stand for in XBLAH? XBox Live Arcade Heffalump?)

I think it's just so you can pronounce it as x-blah. I like it.

edit: Also, Carcassone only supports a few players! I think it'd be better to play something everyone can join in. I still haven't gotten over the Table Tennis fiasco.

Carcasonne is currently waaaay out in front. We currently have 4 people who would play Carcasonne, max 5 player server. Nothing stopping us from having 2 servers if someone else doesn't mind being a Mother, though. We can easily have a few games and mix up the rooms.

Damn it! We're going to have to play Carcassone in groups or something. Having said that, nobody will turn up.

Just to make it clear, I have no problems playing Carcassone - it's excellent - I'd just prefer a big proper group game so we can all have a jolly good larf.

As I currently only have an Xbox, I can only play one of those, so Halo2 gets my vote. Also, if anyone wants to play it, please do, I am lonely! :o(

If I'm about to game that night I will join in Carcassone. Don't put me down as a vote, because I can't commit to being there.

It was one of the 10 free games some people got for buying a 360 late last year. The "refer a friend" thing.

Texas Hold 'Em was? I should have it in that case. If I'd known I would've played last night. :(

Texas Hold'Em was a freebie to everone when it was released. 23/08/2006. Time limited, as it was MEANT to be free permantly, but the sponsor pulled out at the last minute. They gave it away free for a few days to placate the people who wanted it for ages. It's paid now, of course.

Ok, my take:

Halo 2 (May be changed to Halo 3 if ALL participants voting want it) (2 - 16 players)
- I went back and tried to play halo2 while we were all playing halo3. I couldn't cope with just how murky and hard to see everything was. I'd avoid this one.

Outrun 2 (2 - 8 players)
-Sold it with my Xbox, due to it not being backwards compatible. Wouldn't buy again.

XBLAH DOOM : Deathmatch (2 - 4 players)
-I wouldn't want to play this, as last time I did, the scorelines ended up something like 26-3-1-1. (I'm not 380th* in the world for no reason :P)

Sega Rally (lots of interest in this last time, if people want to show up) (2 - 6 players)
-Would play, wouldn't vote for it.

Ridge Racer 6 (2 - 14 players)
-Probably the only one I want to play, really.

Undertow (2 - 16 players)
-Ahahahaha. Could be good for acheievement point whoring , and general moaning. (Misery loves comapny, they say)

Carcasonne (2 - 5 players)
Should be 2-6 players, really, but the devs are crap. (The expansion set I have does this) Wouldn't want to play online, as it just lacks the feel of the boardgame.

* - And that's lacking at least one level, and low scores from others, due to not always being connected to live while playing it through on ultraviolent.

Shall I put you down for a Ridge Racer - 3 point, Undertow - 1 Point?

Also, selling Outrun...you lose. It's back-compatible now.

The poll function you mean? Because if you do that, then you can't tell off people that skew the vote and then never turn up to play.

Right, so this is for Obscure Night V.

Obscure Night 4 was Sega Rally night, when shockingly a few people who had expressed interest in the week and a half before that date found that in the interim, things had changed, and they wouldn't be around at all. For their own reasons - I know this was my story. And indeed, duly and repeatedly and oh-so-tiresomely has this been brought up since then, every other day seemingly.

Nonetheless, a shocking state of affairs. Truly, whomever participated in Obscure Nights 1-3 were the best of us. I suggest that in future, all games-related polls and voting be allowable only by those who have demonstrated a willingness and tenacity for turning up and playing games. I can't scientifically measure who off-hand, so I recommend keeping a list of whomever plays COD4 and Burnout Paradise (the two most popular games on this board by some distance, online at least) as a list of trustees whose votes would count in future. Super-forumites, to give a nod to the US electoral process. But super-forumites sounds stupid, so I recommend you come up with some kind of special forumy name for these chosen ones, I dunno what.

Also, just in case any of those should then not turn up, I recommend taking a note of those super-forumites who *are* trusted, and as a means of preventing any future poll-related debacles, perhaps only allow these super-special individuals to start / vote in polls. That way you know you're getting a fair and unbiased view of things.

Hope this helps.

CUS: You're being a pillock again.

The point of non-anonymous voting isn't so much as to allow us to 'have a pop' at people who don't turn up, but rather to make people think before voting. And if someone does vote, and something comes up, it provides a reason for them to, y'know, tell us. Which would be polite.

Oh, and I'd rather take a nail-gun to my nuts than play fudge Carcassonnnnnne or Undertow.

I vote Sega Rally and Ridge 6.

Again? No, anyway. I don't think you've taken the point I was trying to make - fair enough, for necessity's sake it is somewhat oblique.

Sigh. Right. I didn't play Sega Rally because...
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I'd been speaking to my Mum on the phone shortly before hand, who was informing me of the latest news regarding my aunt, who has been increasingly losing her mind since her daughter (my cousin) died a few years back, and who some of my family want to section. I'm highly against this, and had been having a blazing row with another member of my family on the phone in regards to her unfortunate situation, particularly since when my aunt had first started attending seances and all that other 'mystic' bollocks, I had been the only person to try and do anything positive, when everyone else in my family was murmuring to leave her alone, to be more sensitive, to understand that people have different ways of healing. The stupid pillocks with their idiotic, misplaced sense of caring, really a kind of half-arsed and low-brained nervous uncertainty masquerading as sensitivity. Take note, folks.

I then came downstairs, and saw 'Sheepeh wants to play', in relation to Sega Rally. I think I did then message him to say that sorry, but I really wasn't in 'the right place' to play, but I forget, sorry. I had quite a lot on my mind, not helped by [some forum stuff] and this double dose of unhappiness meant that I just couldn't bring myself to race around in fast cars and go 'Hahaha! Wahey! Se-ga-Ra-ha-lly! I want to play, Sega Rally! With bums! And tits! Smelly poo cocks!'

Another time, however, and I would have, much as I had hoped to do that night. So, as I say - my apologies for not playing myself. Also, I trust that it is more evident why I had previously merely mentioned that something came up.

As for 'the others', I know not, but feel bound by an unspoken loyalty to say 'Eh, leave it out'. I mean, I can (and on a slow day, sometimes do) moan and whine in similar kind, about asking to play a game, turning up to play game, waiting for an invite for a game, sometimes asking for an invite, but still being refused attendance. Whilst y'know, not actually being *refused* because that'd be having a set of hairy male testicles. I find this rather rude myself.

I vote for Warhead.

I think it's far more the case of if there's a poll, people are far more likely to vote in it, thinking "ooh, I like that game" whilst having absolutely no intention of ever turning up. This is much less likely to happen if you're putting down a vote with your name next to it.

People who intend to play and then don't, for whatever reason, is generally fine. It's those that never have any intention of playing, but just like clicking pretty buttons that are the issue.

Yes. CUS did message me with a voice message, and to be honest things like that are perfectly fine. If I was being arsey about invites I'd have told Jonarob to bugger off for whining about Burny Pee, but that's not really my style. As it happened, he joined and played Poker with us. Me keeping track of who's voting is more to keep track of persistant offenders than it is saying "OMFG CUS DIDN'T PLAY HE CAN NO LONGER PLAY RAAAAAAAAAAAAAR".

You, Mr. CUS, *know* that I've always offered to invite you to anything, as I've offered anyone who wants to play. *I* was one of the ones that added you back my friends list after you deleted everyone off yours, and I had to find out why you did that off [someone else in the forum] with no explanation from yourself at the time. So if you'd like to take your complaints to someone who might actually deserve them rather than my Thread of Gamage, it'd be most welcome. Ta.

So if you'd like to take your complaints to someone who might actually deserve them rather than my Thread of Gamage, it'd be most welcome. Ta.

Hi there. You seem to have taken my comments regarding disappointment with the unfriendly and hypocritical attitudes of some people on this board* to heart, as a personal comment to yourself. You shouldn't, and are incorrect to do so. This is a polite explanation.

However, I do apologize that you missed the couple of places where I explained why I had removed everyone from my list - I apologize further for not making it a sticky thread in bold, so that everyone could see it, as I'm sure that everyone on this forum loves tedious personal forum shite, especially when it involves me, and I clearly should have definitely done this. This is mildly intended sarcasm.

In any case, please continue with What Do The Bezzies Want To Play Next?, and I apologize for the slight derailing.

Well, yes, I take that as a slight against the way I'm running Obscure Night. That's how I read it. You've never been denied access to Obscure Night, and neither has anyone else. I've gone out of my way to make it that way. So, as you posted on the Obscure Night thread seemingly in a "woe is me" stylee about being denied playtime with Bezzies, it might be better to do it in a thread, y'know, to do with Bezzies.

If you've got a problem with certain people, do please just come out and say it instead of being amazingly cryptic, and then wondering why people struggle to work out what you mean and then take offence at something you say you didn't mean. It'd be much easier.

Damn right I played poker! And for the record, I'm really appreciative of your threads and what you're doing, I just took exception to play Burnout instead because I thought it was a bit silly to replace the obscure night with that. But never mind, water under the bridge. And poker was aces.

On that note :

Carcasonne : 15
Ridge 6 : 8
Halo 2 : 7
Doom : 5
Sega Rally: 5
Undertow : 2
Outrun 2 : 2

7 people have included Carcasonne in their votes, so there will be 2 games if everyone shows up on time.

Ange might be interested in playing Carcassonne also. Can you play with two people on the same console in a LIVE match?

Gah.
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Not 'woe is me', more 'what a bunch of cunts'. Also, that's every thread on this forum currently, they're all Bezzie. It's increasingly like Invasion of the Bodysnatchers here. The good 70s one, not the shitty recent one.

Tried that, it just resulted in me being told what a hateful cunt I was for daring to say something negative. I-R-O-N-Y! I never find myself wondering 'why people struggle to work out what (I) mean'. There are some extremely dim people on here. Not everyone, not at all.

Anyway. Seriously. Look - above, I explained why *I* wasn't there, because after having various people (and the reason I don't name people specifically is because the people on this forum are all reactionists, and I were to say, as a pure example, 'Having Mr Dave ask me what 'my problem' is, because I didn't show up to Sega Rally having previously been annoyed that it looked like being turned into a Bezzie Burnout Bumfest, really bothered me, given that I'd had a terrible night previously and had politely informed you immediately that I wouldn't be turning up, and yet as with every other single thing on this board, I am not once given the benefit of the doubt or any measure of rope, despite the fact that every single one of you wouldn't be here if it weren't for me, you ungrateful bunch of twats', would seem like I was having a go at Mr. Dave. Which would not be the case (except, I'm sure now this will somehow be proof of some agenda I hold against Mr. Dave or something).

Anyway. Really. Please, continue with your thread. I hope that discussion of future game events can be planned without any sneery moaning in regards to previous absences or such, in this thread. *backs away politely, making 'please, this way' gestures with arm, rather like the butler in Clue*

Do, please continue.

I don't *think* so. I'm not 100% sure on that, though.
