I keep finding slightly different ways through the kink- I think my current best included more braking and shifting down to 3rd even, but I've had similar times holding in fourth. Taking too much kerb means a trip into the boonies though. Likewise on the sweeping right hander, I see my other two ghosts taking different lines (and different gears from memory) but it all comes together the same by the kink.

I'm definitely finding this myself, no matter how many different lines I take on the first 2 or 3 corners I always get to the hairpin in about the same time. A fast time for me on this track entirely hangs on the damn hairpin, which is so hard to take right.

I found by increasing the stability bars* at the front of the car more than the rear helped reduce understeer, which was my main problem with the standard setup.

*sorry its early and I cant think of their proper names

Thanks Myp.

Hmm. I softened the front springs. Increasing the anti roll bar stiffness should create more understeer, not cure it, unless something else was wrong with the setup. I dunno. Great time, though!

So close to a 36 but it will definitely come.

The way the Enzo either pushes or drives on rails, I'd think having any gubbins switched on would make it worse, not better.

I find I can almost have my foot flat on the floor round the first corner as long as I've braked slightly beforehand, understeering only ever so slightly.

My instinct, which has been backed up with some reading of FAQs and the loons on the offical game forums, is that the traction control and stability management always makes you slower than you can go without them. They restrict you from doing some things you want to be able to do, like trail breaking, or small amounts of power oversteer to correct your line. Driving line is just info and doesn't necessarily effect things one way or the other (are people using this?). However, ABS pretty much always makes you go faster; you don't ever want to lock all the wheels up under braking.

You're all much better at Forza than me; do you agree?

I don't know. I seem capable of getting some good lap times, maybe better than yours. But I don't know if that makes me better at Forza. I crash off a lot experimenting with the limit to hotlap. Maybe you're better at lapping consistently and therefore better at actually racing.

The Enzo should be available to you straight away in free run in Arcade. This track really only contains 2.5 corners. Give it a go :)

I believe my improvement was down to the extra laps I put in and not down to not having the assists turned on.

I have to agree with the gayone that ABS assists faster times whereas TCS may hinder them.

I think I could easily get in the 36's with ABS on as the previous time I had wasnt that far off and that was only after a few attempts.

However, I shall continue with no assists as it may just be that I am not used to it and could possibly improve.

I know its early, but can we stick to the arcade time trials next week?
My reasons are:
- provides replays for everyone
- ghosts for everyone
- position in world and not just bezzies (this also helps as you can watch the lines the *pros take)
- it is not possible to change the car parts

Obviously Im willing to go with what the majority want, but this is my preferred option.

It drastically reduces the number of trials we can do though.

Yeah but mostly in shit cars, especially those on shorter tracks, plus by definition, we've all done them before.

Why don't we alternate it each week? I see your point about changing car parts, Rams, but I really don't think anyone on here would do that.

If you want to cheat to win something this inconsequential you go right ahead and feel like a big man/girl/monkey. We had this debate back in the offline days of Gran Turismo 1, the conclusion generally was "If you're that fucking petty you're only cheating yourself anyway".

It's just friendly fun. With the free run stuff, if we run another S class car at the same track that is slower than the Enzo, we won't see relevant times for friends any more, as the records are only held per car class, not car. I wish Forza had more options for swapping times by car/specific tuning values, sharing replays etc.

I don't like the time trials much, and though I can see that having ghosts might be useful, without the same setup you could be chasing an impossible ideal anyway.

Well if we're taking it turns to choose, everyone is entirely free to choose an "official" one if they so wish :)

Me? I'm thinking something with a Rothmans Porsche.

This is another valid reason for using the arcade TT.

I didnt actually think anyone here would cheat, I just wanted to add to my reasons to make them a bit more weighty.

Like I said, I will go with the majority.

Alternating it weekly sounds like a good compromise.

My time is a pretty awful 38.605, but that's from only trying for maybe four laps before having to stop.

It's just possible autodriver might be pushing it. :)

I'm assuming you're joking about that one since it doesn't exist in arcade.
