Ok, we just had a police officer knock on the door as there's apparently been an 'incident' on the green at the bottom of our road. He couldn't tell us what it was, but wanted to know if we'd heard anything between 3:30-4pm. I was at work, but Ange doesn't really remember anything.

After this, I noticed a few cars coming down our road and then turning round and going back. I thought this was odd, so I had a quick peek outside and they've taped that end of the road off. Looks like it's fairly serious, then.

Pretty common where I live in Hackney with all the crack heads shooting each other.

The bloody police chopper is out so often around us it's been nicknamed the Star of Hackney as you can usually find your way home at night by it :D

POLICE DO NOT CROSS - everyone else is fine to.

We had a copper knock on the door a few weeks ago, saying that some kid had been kicked in by a few other kids in the lane behind our house and he needed to know if we'd seen or heard anything.

That, or its her daytime bit on the side who is the one in trouble, and she can't say anything without revealing the affair.

I am of course, joking - but from what I have heard based on empirical data (solicitors in pubs), that kind of thing is (un)amusingly common.

We had lots of police around the area recently. I live near some Japanese water gardens, and a few days ago someone stole a fish from there worth quiiite a lot.
Why anyone would want to do such a thing is beyond me.
But, y'know, whatever floats your boat I guess.

I wonder if they'll ever get that fish back..

Oi! I'll have you know I was busy watching Jeremy Kyle on TV, feeling smug about how upper class the dimwits on there make me look.

Tam - A garden centre in Nottingham had £4,000 worth of koi carp stolen earlier in this week. Crazy. And how would you identify your stolen fish? Do they have a line up, or a swim up?

Koi carp are often microchipped now. Them being bloody expensive, and all.

I'd say something about koi carp going well with Microchips but that'd be rubbish.

I wonder whether my next door neighbour's koi carp are microchipped...

Our road was closed off this morning too. Not by the police though. Apparently the City of Thunder Bay felt it was necessary to close off the street all morning while they brought a work crew in, complete with JCB. After they buggered off, I went to see what they'd actually done that was worth putting big "Road Closed" signs up all morning for.

They'd drawn some green lines around two manhole covers. I shit you not.

I don't think we have that many police in our entire tiny country....

Can we all chip in and buy Mimi a little cottage in a sleepy village somewhere? Complete with veggy patch and apple trees? And a swing hanging from a cherry tree?

I have similar pictures from when someone played Cardiff City, and quite literally every police van ever built was called in to escort them from Ninian Park back to the station.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where they are.

Stabbing incident

Doesn't really sound right, does it?

Nope, Bulwell. A hundred yards or so from the stabbing.

I wonder who it was. There was talk of some local trouble makers being released from prison over the coming months. Maybe it's a grudge/gang stabbing. It's a bit much in broad day light though.

He was surprised when she walked on with a goat.

But not as surprised as he was when they brought on the kids.

Oh, that's outside my flat in London, Kalmar - Lancaster is really quite sleepy in comparison - there's a trio of drunks that take up most of the police time there, because they shout at people. The newspaper headlines are always full of headlines such as: 'MAN MUGGED FOR LUNCH - THIEVES MAKE OFF WITH APPLE AND CAPRI-SUN!'

There is a lot of gun and knife crime in this very small area of London, and it's all concentrated on two streets, but it is very much contained within the community of drugs and knives - they are gong to kill themselves off soon, I am sure - there can't be that many drug dealers and so on left.

I fancy a little garden with a veggie patch and a swing tied from a tree now :smug:

Not quite as good as the South Wales Echo devoting the entirety of the third page to the tragic story of thieves who made off with some bloke's dead hamster.

Heh, I was kidding, I didn't really think it was Lancaster. Could have been Carnforth though ;)
