I've met Dudley - going to Lancaster is the right move.

So it's the same lot as last time, plus Bobbyaro.

Fair enough.

No more Londononers around? Maybe they've not read the thread as it isn't immediately obvious that there is Beardy Beer shenanigans (and if you thought my efforts at beard growing were poor, Bobby is the Freakish Hairless Man).

Yes perhaps we should retitle the thread.

ARE YOU IN LONDON?
Do you drink beer?

And stick it on the news ticker.

I only answer yes to 50% of the questions, and I still go.

Can't make it. London on a weeknight is always rather awkward, even for an Oxford dweller like me (I _just_ made the last train one night).

Much as I'd love to come I really can't make anything that would need me to take any time off work.

So unless I organise a "meet" in South Devon don't expect to see me any time soon...

For the record, here is what is going on in Shunt on Thursday:

16th - 19th July

Airphoria: Terminal 3 - experiments on leaving a cabin
Airphoria is back at Shunt Lounge, now leaving from Terminal 3. Captain Brendan Walker and flight crew continue their experiments with a death slide, developing a ride based on the Korean air 747 Aeroplane that mysteriously crashed in Hatfield Forest in 1999. (to participate sign your name up at the door when you come in) Weds-Sat

Shunt Artists Louise Mari, Nigel Barrett and George Tomlinson and Tom Duggan will be continuing with their experiments all week in the bar
Weds-Sat

"Delia, Oh Delia" by Shunt Artist Heather Uprichard
Concrete Sculptures in the long corridor
Weds-Sat

Is Art Light Hearted? A Dialogue between Joseph Beuys & Theodor Adorno
A film by Britt Hatzius and Shunt Artist Mischa Twitchin
Studio 65, 8mins, on a loop
Weds-Sat

Horatio Oratorio a performance & installation by Aleksander Kolkowski & Federico Reuben
This performance and installation event combines the earliest sound recording & reproduction technology - Edison phonographs, wax cylinder recordings and antique wind-up horn gramophones - with state of the art electronic sound processing. The sound is projected through a mixture of acoustic horns and loudspeakers and includes an installation of phonograph horns, tubing and turntables.
Installation: Weds-Sat

Interesting stuff, I'm sure you'll agree!

Shunt is twice the price and ten times as crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, and you run the risk of not getting in.

In this case, I didn't want to make it a big thing for people to travel to - because it's too close to the Nottingham meet and I didn't want people to be choosing between one or the other.

We'll have a big one at some other point that doesn't potentially impinge on already planned stuff like Notts and Alton Towers. You can make the effort then.

:)

For the time being, we're going death sliding for beer.

Ladies, shall we meet at the usual meeting place (Barrowboy and Banker) pre-Shunt? At what time will people be arriving? I'll probably be there some time around half five, though can amuse myself elsewhere for a while if necessary.

I think it's fair to say that if we've left the Barrowboy, we'll be in Shunt.

Ah how disappointing. I'm making the treck from Nottingham to London town on Friday as I shall be attending the Ben & Jerry's festival on Clapham Commom on Saturday. Drinking alcohol, eating ice cream and watching bands in the sunshin. What could possibly be better?

Curiosity - will you and your lovely lady be joining us on Saturday?

Sorry, I'm hijacking. As you were.

I'm off helping the sister and bro-in-law assemble beds instead. Woo! Fun day!

So, tomorrow night, then. I'm rather flush after not spending any money at the Land Rover show, so make sure you hit me up for drinks.

That's true. Maybe I should have said "I'm rather flush after not spending any money at the Land Rover show, despite saving for months".

Ball-fucking-bags... I somehow had it in my head that this was all tonight and not tomorrow night. This is a shame, as today I'm working from Hemel, so coming along would've been ideal. Tomorrow though, I'm working in the Marlow office at work again and then I'm orf out to see The Dark Knight in the evening anyhow now.

I will definitely, definitely come along next time though peeps - this place sounds awesome!
