I'll be poor next time, I've just decided what I want for my 30th Birthday.
So who is coming - do we have a list.

Buttocks. I'm going to be in London this weekend, too. Well, Staines for most of it. Oh well.

Could someone inform me as to the location of the Barrowboy and Banker public house, please?

I'll do my damnedest, by God, although I may have to remain sober.

Barrowboy and Banker is literally across the road from London Bridge Station. Out the main entrance, turn right along the bus concourse and it's right in front of you.

Go out of London Bridge station by obvious exit.

Turn left.

There it is!

(Well about 50m up the hill directly in front of you actually)

EDIT : Apparently NOT the obvious exit, or Squirt is drunk. It's at the top of the hill anyway, whichever that is from the exit you use.

EDIT 2 : Ah, I'm using the underground, is there by chance an overground station too and that's what you describe Mr Squirt?

Ah, yes. I always use the trains. It's left from the tube exit.

Exit, turn towards the actual bridge itself, and there it is.

Update on the odd air crash thingy that will be there:

Airphoria returns to Shunt: now with a passenger aircraft cabin pre-show, a crash scence photo-booth, and most importantly - an electric airport truck you can take a ride on...

Come and join us 16th to 19th, and 23rd to 30th July - it's our second week and we haven't killed anyone yet!

Crash Scene Investigation photographs can be seen on Flickr here, general ride photos can be seen here.

It looks... interesting.

Here's a snippet of what they did last time, from their website:

Quote:
For four evenings in January 2008 a 35m vault at Shunt Lounge under London Bridge Station was the home to a Death Slide experience. Up to nine passengers were able to book places on each flight, which left every half hour. After their flight announcement, passengers made their way to the Departure Lounge where they were fitted with flight harnesses and took their seats ready for the Captain's preflight briefing (which encouraged screaming...)

One-by-one, passengers were called to take their solo journey; ascending the tower to the start of the 5.4m high slide. After the Ground Engineer's signal, passengers took-off into the unknown, towards the mist and increasingly dazzling aircraft lights; not knowing how or when their journey might end.

Passengers were recovered from their landing, and escorted back to their seat via a shrine dedicated to the growing number of passengers who had survived the journey, which reached almost 400 - the capacity of an international Boeing 747 flight...

It's more of a case of jsutifying the expense than anything else. I re-read it, and it did sound a bit like begging :)

I'd be warey of taking directions from someone that didn't know London Bridge had an overground ;)

But yes, Dudley is referring to the Tooley Street exit - just turn left and head up to the top of the hill.

I did consider briefly putting together a bar mafiascum for this evening then I realised that 5 envelopes with "You are a cunt" in them don't really constitute a mafiascum game.

And surely that's the BeeXscum ruleset?

Cheers, I will no doubt get lost as I am useless. It took me five minutes to find the exit from London Bridge (Overground) on Sunday.

London Bridge has no platform 7. It goes straight from 6 to 8. For some reason, this really, really bugs me. Even worse, there is a sign saying "More cash machines are located by Platform Seven" even though there isn't one.

Never mind all that - I'll buy you a drink, too, so come, it's only the train fare then, what with Grim's rich pickings, Curiosity's wedding-addledness and my goodly nature. Plus Dudley will have something special in an envelope for you.

I am drunk,

This may have been obvious.

If any non-shunters are reading this, never climb over the edge of a milk float after many pints. I recognise this may be clear to you now, after many pints it will not be.

It could be worse, you could have just played CoD4 with everyone.

Oops.

It could be even worse - you might have had to stagger along the embankment in the hope you could get back into the office (success!), waking up this morning when the cleaners come in with a huge hangover.

Ow.

Wow! That's pretty impressive!

That was good fun, Shunt is ace!

What time did people leave? (Other than me, I vaguely know what time I left.)

Haha!

It turned out my last tube was actually slightly later than I thought (0036, not 0016) so I was easily safe.

At this point I actually feel OK, it does occur I also agreed to go drinking tonight. This may possibly have been an error.

Oh God, it hurts. Getting home and playing CoD for an hour and a bit afterwards was probably a mistake, in hindsight.

Good work at Shunt, one and all. Some excellent milk float action, with added jumping once I was drunk enough. I'm still disappointed that Squirt didn't get eaten by a wall, but well played to the fellow we saw crawl entirely inside said wall cavity.

I am so very, very hungover... and am hosting a big drunken games evening tonight. Oh bugger.

That was a good night, and I'm happy to report that I'm not hungover at all.
Were there no photos of Dudleys :titler: sign? Aw, and I never got my photo taken with The Big Show either :(

I can't decide whether I ache because of the football I played on Wednesday, or because I thought it would be fun to vault off the back of the float...

I too am injured - a random bruise on my leg. Must be from float-jumping, unless Craster's mate bopped me while we shared a last shot (dangerous man in so many ways).

I am about as much use as the proverbial chocolate fireguard today, but glad to see Dudley's birthday in in style. Tonight I sleep.

Next time, I'm going to print out a huge A0 'Hello Titler' sign.

Luckily managed to get the last train back, although got in trouble with Mrs Squirt as I had told her "I'm just having a couple of pints, won't be late..."

I thought I didn't have enough cash left today - as a complete bonus I have found a £20 note in my shirt pocket. I never* put money there.

If us midlands types at my work are allowed back to London again, I'll have to try and attend the next 'un.
