Yep, I use it and it works well - clean and easy to use, easily customisable. Never had any problems.

There is Stuff Now. http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/site/

SinisterAgent's MGS4 review is there http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/s ... iew/40/41/

As are about half the contents of the Reviews forum http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/s ... ory/16/41/

The main blocker is me. We need to give the subeds here accounts on the site so they can import content. Goddess Jasmine and Devilman have done great work getting the template sorted out, it just needs the rest of the content. Ideally what it needs is a user account bridge to share login details between the forum and site; there are plugins for this, although none of them seem to work 100%.

Well Chris has given me access to the reviews bit so if I'm not too tired this week, I'll bung some content across.

All of this looks awesome. What was all the grumbling about? Looks like it needs a bit of a tidy and a news update and we're all super-good to go.

This is why we have 'previous posts', they're a brilliant way to say what was said earlier, without having to have been there at the time to read them as they transpired. Works for any thread, brilliantly, via a plugin I think.

It just looks like it needs some kind of graphics to break the text up a bit - it looks like an RSS feed at the moment, but it looks like it is really, really coming along - big cheers to the guys and gals working on it.

What sections will there be? How long before people can start submitting content properly and who is organising all this? And what areas are people to submit content to? I'd like to participate in some way but I do not know what content has been planned and what guidelines there are and how to go about things.

Is there an estimate on when it will all be ready to go?

The sections were detailed by me waaaay back when.

Oh, I think we should have a Q&A, like an ask monkey, where people can ask any questions and the esteemed minds of BETEO can try and answer them. It should draw more people in and be a bit more interactive, and fun.

You do realise at some point I'm going to hunt you down and put out your eyes, don't you?

good work richard, but i supposed i think we should work towards an officiall live moment, where we can work towards..

also, isn't there an online gaming part? to index the online gaming (swos, mario kart, forza, unknown games, mafia scum?)

edit: i see that a section is planned in the other topic.

From a design standpoint, I'd suggest three things (and, yeah, I realise you're not done yet):

1. Revisit how you deal with white space. I would at least double the space between content and the design edge, and between blocks of content. The reviews index makes my eyes flit about, because it's hard to focus on two headings that are so close together.

2. Colour the page background. Right now, it's too much of a distraction, and the focus actually moves outside of the content area. An alternative would be to ditch the drop-shadow, at which point the eye should naturally focus more happily on the content anyway.

3. Put search at the top, not the bottom.

All sounds fine with me - the template is virtually 'as is' from the install with the exception of tweaking a little of the design for Zardoz's beteo graphic. Nothing else has been touched in terms of the layout and colours yet.

(And to everyone else's suggestions)
Not now, though. What we need is a 'games' section and a 'features' section that is online, ready, and public.
Everything else is just niceties.

[edit]Except for design, obv.

Modz and Sub-eds, I thought? And anyone can apply to be a Sub-ed, and the Sub-ed group includes a number of who I believe are non "bezzies" (if I'm interpreting that word correctly).

I've been a shit sub-ed this far and wasn't aware there was a site ready to been seen. Pressures of work etc. I fully deserve to be booted out of the sub-Eds groups. I do promise to try harder in the future though.

QUESTION:

What do you think about the position of Wikipedia's search form? I find it really counter-intuitive and a bit badly placed. Although, I've used it so often for so long, it doesn't jar as much anymore, but if I don't use the site for a week, it really stands out.

In that style of site, directly under the logo would make most sense.

Dumped the drop-shadow, shoved the search at the top and installed something for the retoons. With a bit of luck I've got next week off so I can help out properly if stuff still needs copying over.

How do you want it? An introduction then links to each relevant bit on the forum?

Just an editable page of some sort listing games, and who has them, would be highly useful.

All I've ever found is a list by person, rather than a list by game. (+ less useful for non xbox platforms)

Will the site just be gaming though? As I was reading one of NervousPete's film reviews, I was thinking we could have a spot for those on the site. Plus there's the photo competition stuff, so something more general would probably be best.

IIRC, it was always intended to be gaming-based, but more 'entertainment' than 'gaming' specifically, I think. The more diluted it is, the harder it will be to get it any sort of recognition, of course. And if we put friend's lists on it, we might as well just call it BezzieSite.

Actually, this is going to be put on a sister site, when I get time to do it (BezzieMates gaming, not just the SWOS Cup). I don't think it's really quite right for the main site.

Agreed. It's not a clique (of course) but it's not something we want random site visitors turning up to.

Anyone on the forum is absolutely fine, but if it's on the site we could have Forza night filled with pubbies and to be honest that'd kinda suck.
