Yeah, I just tried it and still there's only about 30 chracters for a sub-heading. It makes it really hard to fit all of the info for the photography contest in.

If there were a punctuation mark that merged a question mark with a colon, it would replace the word 'because'.

It's because it would be 'wrong'. For people not using high resolutions (or the full screen) to view this forum, that page is already far too cluttered because of the subheadings. Letting you put your entire first post into them is going to make the problem far worse.
