Mine is criminally underused.

If they sorted the online side of it out even to being half as good as 360 live then it would do so much better.

No mic for MarioKart? - fuck off

No stars for WiiPoints readily available? - fuck off

Add a code for your Wii for friends AND for every sodding game? - fuck off

I do still love it though, and would never sell it.

Nintendo managed to build up quite a bit of goodwill from me due to the general aceness that was the gamecube. Quite how they've managed to use it all up, and then some, is beyond me.

It'd be interesting to see how good it looked on a big screen, especially if you've got a Scart lead for it. In front of my TV unit I've got an Amiga and CDI on the floor - must get round to trying those out on it at some point. Although I don't think I've found a CDI game worth playing so far.

Surprisingly good, bear in mind only the MS1 and French MS2s can output RGB.

Glad you're enjoying it, mate. A lot of people who start with the Primes don't seem to "get" SM, which is a shame, because now that there are essentially two audiences, no future Metroid game can ever please both of them. Even if the next game completely nipped all of the artistic deviations made in the Prime games in the bud, and was a console-based 2D adventure with intricate, cleverly-interwoven areas, an emphasis on downward movement into an alien, subterranean environment and sported the most lucidly Metroidy artwork and music since the third game, there'd still be hundreds of thousands of people pissing and moaning for a familiar, Earthly strafe-and-shoot game with more NPCs and dialogue.

Ah, what I wouldn't give to be able to play through it for the first time again... :'(

I never played Metroid prime 3 as I heard it had NPC interaction. Entirely spoiling the excellent atmosphere of the first (and to a lesser degree, second) games in that series.

I almost never use my Wii.

I have a few games for it, but never really get the time/inclination to play any of them on one player, and the internet mode suffers massively from no headsets and a stupid Wii code thing.

Also, I couldn't really get into Mario Galaxy, as whilst the controls were fun, it was just a bit slow for me.

They seem to have lost my login details anyway. I have about 8000 stars, but apparently I don't exist any more.

My Wii has been sitting there fore a while, not really doing much as well.

I think I just need to get more games - I tend to get tired of one, then get really into another for a week, then tire of that one. If I have enough games, I'm constantly playing, if I only have three or four, I go in fits and starts.

So, who wants to sell me some unused Wii games?

Maybe I need to start up a lending library as my Wii games aren't getting much attention - I've not played Eledees, Nights, Dragon Ball Z - Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Metal Slug Anthology and some boxing game that got a good review in N-Gamer. Barely started Superstar Tennis and Tomb Raider Anniversary too.

What a fucking joke - they've got some 1000 point cards, but no 100 point cards.

Actually, what am I complaining about? I can't download anything without deleting something else, so there's no point in bothering.

When you buy Nintendo stuff there's normally a little paper slip with a scratch panel. You register the product on their site and you get 'star' points for your trouble.

It's a fantastic system.

I'd have thought Wii Fit would have stars with it. Is No More Heroes an official Nintendo title, I forget? Plus you should have stars with your Wii too.

Yeah, you can buy all sorts of exciting wallpapers for your desktop ?:|

In Japan you can actually get some great stuff, we in Europe are rewarded with peanuts.

At one point you could swap your star points for Wii points, but they gave out about 50 sets of Wii points and then decided that they had 'sold out', they were impossible to get hold of (of course, being a virtual product, they couldn't have sols out, but as everyone had all their useless star points for years with absolutely nothing to spend them on NoE suddenly realised the implications of teh amount of WII points they'd be giving away.

Star points are pretty useless in my opinion.

Just noticed that bit of text on the Points shop page saying that a certain amount are available each day so I guess it's just a case of getting on early enough.

I think the Stars system isn't bad - am I right in saying that it's only Europe that it applies to? Or do other regions have different incentives?

My stars bought me Puzzle League/Dr Mario for the GBA and bought me quite a few Wii Points so can't complain.

The last couple of months there has been alot more stuff available than there has for the last year and a half Ive been on. But the whole stars expiring thing is shocking, they start putting decent rubbish stuff you can actually hold in your hand but anyone thats been a loyal follower of nintendo suddenly has no stars anymore to buy them.

I don't understand. There was an offer of something for free, but it wasn't what people really wanted, or the stuff people did want for free, wasn't often available. Now the things people got to get the free stuff people didn't much like anyway are gone. So stuff nobody paid for, nobody will now get for free, and that's a reason to boycott a company?

Did people buy stuff just to get star points?

I watched my friend playing some levels near the end, and they looked fairly complicated. Gravity switched regularly, there were those gravity changing spotlights, there were enemies hurling stuff at you, and all in all it looked pretty nifty.

All I've had to do is basically trial and error my way around some utterly non-threatening levels, apart from one level that had some moving floors with holes in - I liked that bit... but largely it just seems a little dull for the first few hours.

At least you lot get Star Points. Over here we're stuck with stupid codes that you enter into the Nintendo site (if you can be bothered registering) and it says "Well done, you have registered [Game X] - here it is in a list beside all the other games you've registered. Okay. Go away now, cheers".
Oh, I suppose I got a free three month trial of Nintendo Power, but that was more of a punishment than a benefit, really.

Some folk actually sell them on Ebay. I bought a batch of them very cheaply and nearly all of them were for games I didn't have (you can't register a title twice) so it worked out as a nice way of getting a load of stars and subsequently Wii Points.

That I can only understand to a point - what if I buy a game, use it and lose it, then buy it again? I've paid twice, the stars are in there, why can't I use them, if I've paid for them? The thing that realy galled me though was the two DSes I bought - I had a reguler (which I'd not have bought if I knew they would release a different one within eighteen months but that's another story) then I bought a lite, so's I could play 42 all time classics with my wife. I could have bought apack of cards but Nintendo Fanboy that I am I gave them £120 to do the same thing instead.

And I couldn't register my 500 DSLite points because I already have a DS fat.

THEY ARE DIFFERENT CONSOLES, FFS.

Especially petty when you consider what 400 points gets you - 100 wii points, or about 60p.

You should give the points to your wife, on her birthday.

As far as I know you can't hand over the points but you could always buy someone a game with them using the gift option.

But for how annoying the stars to points shit is it has actually got me 2000 Wii Points which is much, much better than anything I was offered over the time of the cube.

If only. In the literal sense. At least peanuts have nutritional value.

I used to use my star points, but since early last year, haven't. For my earlier games DS and Wii games that had star point vouchers, but were used, I've tracked down unused vouchers to make my game packages "complete" again. (Please don't call me mad.)

I play my Wii nearly every day. It is my favourite TV-based games console since the Super NES. My girlfriend likes it, I've got a range of suitable games to play with younger relatives and other children... It's great.

It's not the only thing that's caused this, and you probably misunderstand what I mean. It essentially means that anything I do buy will be second hand, and so nintendo won't see any more of my money.

Can you give points to people? I bought some to get the web browser but I don't want anything else and I have points left over.

As far as I know you can't hand over the points but you could always buy someone a game with them using the gift option.
