Go for it, mate. Unfortunately, I can't grab that right now. Thanks a lot, though, folks!

As far as I can tell from the flash video is bloody beautiful. It's now number one on my OMGWANT list.*

Man 2D would be amazing by now if we hadn't wasted years on that stupid 3rd dimension.

Excluding Rhythm Tengoku, which doesn't count - because I'm torn up over maybe waiting to see if it gets an English release...

I don't like Wario Land 4 at all. It's easily the worst of the series for me. Thinking back on it the first Wario Land (which is also, confusingly, the third Mario Land) is really rather good.

And Super Mario World is fantastic, bah.

Yeah, can't wait for that! Looks a bit like Odin Sphere - kinda hoping it doesn't play similarly. :p

Certainly has more platforming, though. Yay!

Grab yourself Twilight Princess (or rent it) and install yourself some home-brew goodness on the Wii. The Classic controller is THE best thing for emulating old games. The d-pad is perfect on it and it feels just right for snes games. Haven't tried any nes ones yet but I'm pretty sure there's a decent emulator floating around.

In order for that to work, I need a Wii. And I'm not buying one.

You should buy it if you can find it cheap, it's FAR more platformy than any of the other games. A lot of "traditional" Mario RPG fans hated it because it was essentially a platform game.

I loved it personally, and I'm not an RPG person.

Has it got Paper Mario style battles, or bop em on the head platforming?

Hopefully the later.

All battles (That I can remember, except one joke battle) are done by either jumping on someone's head, or using the clever pixels to fiddle about with the 3rd dimension (which, again, relate to platforming).

If you can find it cheap or rent it then I'd really recommend it. It's definitely more platforming than RPG though. It's not difficult, if that matters but I still found it exceptionally fun.

Fuck me I was going to embed that but yeah, click through and watch in high quality, it's fucking gorgeous. I can't believe Nintendo didn't make a big deal about this game at E3. It looks wonderful.

(Also - the amazon seller never sent my GBA Wario Game. The Twunt.)

So Wario Land: Shake It sold 10,000 copies on its launch day in Japan.

Faith in humanity status: CRITICAL

Judging from the trailers I've seen, they've done the "tilty to left to go left, tilty right to go right" controls, as even the guy playing it on the trailer to show it off was fluffing jumps and missing ledges.

And as there isn't a demo like XBLAH...I'll wait for someone else to crack and tell us how it is.

I reeeaaaaally doubt that's how the controls work, but aye, I'll definitely be buying it as soon as it's out, so I'll post a brief run-down after I've spent a few hours with it. :)

It's left and right on the dpad to move left and right.

Tilting is used when you are in special vechiles or shooting canons.

It better be good I'm so stoked.

I do so hope your hope is well founded. I'll certainly be getting this if it's as good as it should be. And I've got space on my Wii.

It comes on a disk. It's a full size game with lavish animation - and fully animated cut scenes.

This will eother piss you off or make you flip.

I',m stoked at the idea of 2D games being viable full releases again - I hope it kick starts a trend.

It's a disc game? Why was I under the impression it was a WiiWare title?
