So... do people have plans for their island? I mean, grand, wonderful plans?

I've made a lovely town square with lots of fenced flowers, a picnic area, all the shops off the streets and I'm currently building a park on a hill where I'll move the museum to. This park will have a little pond in it, and a cliff-side outlook for star-gazing and oh yes it will be oh so very serene yus. On the beach and southside front below will be most of where the villagers live. I'm meanwhile rerouting a lot of streams to make a sort of little island that separates the main town square from the museum and south-west beach hamlet. I'm not sure what is to be on this island. I also plan an orchard with a silo and partially ruined stone wall shenanigans, right next to the campsite on the western shore. The north east is where I will move my house to, and I aim it to be in a secret little cove when I've finished with it, with only one entrance.

Of course, cramming it all onto the ickle island, that's the question, especially as I insist on nice little gardens and fences around all my houses. Also I am now broke after moving houses a gajillion times. Tch. Still, coming along nicely I think.

My plans for my island are very modest. Aside from the maze in the upper-left, I plan to have little themed areas based on the item materials, so I've got wooden and stone areas on the go so far. Today I started with the paths which should keep me occupied for a while.

I’ve not done any grand landscaping. My rivers and highlands are pretty much where they were when I landed, with the odd bend refined, or cliff cut into to build staircases and such.

I have a paved frontage to my museum, inlaid with trilobites and ammonites, and those fossils, along with a human skeleton, flank the museum.

Out the front is a little plaza with a fountain and benches. I gave a little public garden next door to a flower nursery. I have a little zen garden in my highlands. I have a couple of ‘streets’ at the very north and along the south beach, where all my houses and their individual gardens are. But that’s about it. I’m sure it will continually but slowly evolve.

I've kept my Island pretty understated but I have the 5000 point Godzilla-type statue arriving tomorrow... Not sure where that's going to go :D

I met Rover. He gave me a bad case of something. I wholeheartedly recommend everybody load up today and go to speak with Nook as I don't know whether the thing he gives you is only available today or not.

@romanista I've got an amber and plesio body for you but I haven't visited your island yet! So I can't post them :S If I don't see you around today, I'll send them to the Meems Halfway House For Dead Reptiles for you to pick up from. I have odd sleeping hours at the moment.

Yep, no problem. If you don’t see Rock around just send them to me and I’ll post them on.

I hope you are managing to get some rest, even if your hours are topsy-turvey. I’m trying to catch up in some sleep now but am looking forwards to seeing what the island has in store for me later x

When you buy something online not realising how big it is

Today's shop.. nothing too exciting

Gate is open for the morning. Log Stakes and Log Benches are the hot items, so a little money to be made if you have spare bits.

Also I did come to your town Devilman but Dimrill had already taken the table! But then he sent it to me in the mail so :P

I don’t think it ‘does’ anything as such, Miki. I think it’s just decorative, but special because :luv: Rover :luv: .

Top-left is a Go board.

Gate is open for a bit and I've added some bits to the pile of freebies.

I had the go board a little while ago and gave it as a gift to my oriental ostrich type villager and she was super happy

As DM so kindly opens his gates each day I've just took over my collection of 11 duplicate recipes and dropped them next to his freebies spot. Seems a better idea than just listing them here. If you don't want them DM, just sell them at Nooks for some pennies.

Also I visited your Able Sisters and liked the look of the crown... 1.2 million bells. :S I have that in my bank but I was hoping to get that final house payment off my back. Dilemma!

I'm tempted to save up the miles to get the giant robot to give Godzilla someone to play with :D
Glad the recipe came in handy.

Very kind of you. :) I'll have a nose that those recipes myself in a bit as I'm sure I'll be missing some of them.

I'd stay tempted. It needs 10 gold nuggets, a gold armour, 90 irons, 30 rusted parts and a rocket to build it. :S

Damn. I assumed the 5000 miles gave you the completed robot. Or are you referring to the recipe?

Godzilla was a buy, robot is a recipe. I think the main impediment to that would be the rocket recipe and the 30 rusted parts. I have saved all the Rusties I've seen so far and only have 7.

If it’s possible over the next couple of days could I shuffle over and pick up some crafting recipes for Darwin as he’s just started his own profile to get a little house on my island and had no craft recipes. As he’s been playing as my character he’s had access to all mine until now and I do t want him getting too deflated now that he has none.

I've reopened my gate for the afternoon if you want to grab the three spares that are left. Hopefully we can build up a nice stash of bits for him :)

I have been dropping of loads of bags of cash at Katies house and once or twice I have played as her to buy all the crafting packages from nooks cranny. that was a good start for her
now I give her all my doubles but if we have spares I will also drop them off at Devilmans recipe graveyard

@Devilman you should totally get the robot! We will help you with supplies!

I gave Darwin a load of tools and bits, but as he’s actually been playing (as me) since the game was out he’s pretty great with the mechanics and just loves crafting. I’m at the stage where most recipes I find are doubles, so I can keep giving him those, but don’t wantvhim feeling like he’s taken too big a step backwards. He’s got his house today, so he’s happy with that :D

I put this in FB, but I made Russell this T-shirt this afternoon. It’s not much, but it’s the first vaguely creative thing I’ve done since we went into lockdown (which, for our family, was 10 weeks ago...) I’ve really found it so difficult. I think the last thing I did was some little sewn AC things. I just drew it in Illustrator this afternoon, but I’d had the idea for it a few weeks ago and had ordered all of the materials then, so I’m glad I’ve managed to get around to it.

Thank you, DM! I’ve popped over and picked those up, as well as a couple of bits for his house, and thank you Keen also for the hat. Darwin will enjoy that, I think!! x

@devilman.. as a Go-player loved that they included it again.. thinking about making a traditional japanese room with it.. (dissapointed that the new 51games form Nintendo (sequel to the ds classic 42) still only has Go-moku.. (even though it has Shogi, which is far less accessible), and the o games on the Japaneseshop see to language heavy to access

@mimi think the rocket is the base for smoother recipes.. we'll see.. hope you liked your little stop bye yesterday..

And thanks for sending over the dimdill's fossils (and dimdill thanx too)

Lovely shirt... jealous! can you sell them online?

No, because they are a direct copy of the Dodo Airlines logo in the airport, but when lockdown ends I will make a few and send them out and if you’d like one I’ll post one to you. (I can’t do much until then as my family are all isolating and can’t get to a postbox)

That didn't stop a version appearing on Qwertee the other day though.

Rick, remind me when lockdown finishes. I have a mind like a sieve (really, I have memory issues).

D’oh(do) could have just bought one?! My lowercase d is better, though. I’m going to give that a B-.

No, it’s actually one of the better ones I’ve seen. A lot seem to have the letters fully upright. I hasn’t seen that actual one but saw a couple of others when I was looking online to try and get a clearer idea of the beak proportions and wing shape, but there are a few knocking about on dodgy sites.

I was going to make mine a proper copy of the in-game tee (Dodo on the front, lettering on the back) but liked this more, overall.

So... do people have plans for their island? I mean, grand, wonderful plans?

Of course, cramming it all onto the ickle island, that's the question, especially as I insist on nice little gardens and fences around all my houses. Also I am now broke after moving houses a gajillion times. Tch. Still, coming along nicely I think.

Well my first big plans created big museum square.. then making my main square as lively s possible with stands (my coffee stand).. My daughter has started second account for her big plan, convert that house to be a restaurant.. but I'm now bit in between plans...

The 'Island Faces' design on Qwertee today isn't bad. :)

Gate is open for a while this morning.

Things of note:
- It's Sylvia's birthday today. No idea if the stamps that are awarded for celebrating residents' birthdays applies to those on other islands, but can't hurt to say hello
- Turnips are 102. Not sure if you can buy turnips from other islands but seems a high price anyway
- Leif is around again

I bought the timer from the shop to see what it does and when you start it, it keeps track of the number of bugs and fish you catch in that time which is a nice idea.
