I agree with keeping if brief however its really going to depend on the job and who is actually looking at the CV's

Handwritten for any technical job is 'bad' , as is obvious spelling mistakes.

If this is a job where they are regularly recruiting then you pretty much want to make sure that your CV answers all the questions and doesnt raise any concerns , realistically its just there to try to get you the first interview so it shouldnt be war and peace.

Is this the same job application as in the first post? If so: :S. It's been going on a while! Do these things normally take this long... ?

No, I didn't get the first one. I've applied for three other prison ones since, but heard nothing. I can't go too far out of the area and there aren't many coming up. I'm applying for jobs with the local police now, research, analyst, handling evidence etc... there are five in all. I need to do something and quickly, I'm out of cash so McDonalds is actually looking appealing!

Hmm I was thinking of starting a thread like this yesterday but time ran out and I had to resort to googling.
CV and covering letter went in this morning, not feeling very confident though..

It's Stafford I'm applying to Ian, the headquarters there.

I'm not feeling very happy with the skills bit I'm filling in though, I'm perhaps just in the wrong frame of mind to be doing it right now.

:DD

If I wasn't so desperate I might actually put that! :P

It's ironic that it's the psychology stuff I need to draw on rather than the forensic stuff. :nerd:

As this is the job thread I will post here.

A 'diversity monitoring form' has not only asked me for my ethnic group, but asked for my 'faith' and my 'sexuality'.

No. Fucking. Way.

:this:

I just leave them blank, my answers would have no bearing on my ability to do the job properly at all.
