So, the qualifiers are over, and all the ingredients are in for the most bizarre world cup until 2022:

-No Italy
-No Holland
-No USA
-No Chile
-Lots of racism

And Spain is in the pot 2 of the draw, so there's huge potential for a group of death.

While Northern Ireland is still arguing about the non-existing penalty, let's discuss the future tournament instead.

I have no interest in a Russian or Qatari World Cup for various reasons so I'll see you in 2026

I know you're joking, but... really? Would you want to be in a TEAM USA tournament just so they can sell Budweisers and chilli dogs? I reckon your best players would rather have a month on the beach.

World Cup should be 31 teams, and then an appointed manager to pick a ‘Best of the Rest’ team.

What would the national anthem of that team be?

REM's "everybody hurts" would be a good choice

A week to go before the start of the wendyball cup 2018 I believe?

I expect I'll watch the first England game, get annoyed at how shit they are and stop watching.

Does anyone actually have any expectations?

I've watched so little football this year; I just lose a little more interest each year in watching regular games, but I'll always watch World Cup stuff if it's on at a reasonable hour. I see that the group games look to be at 1pm or 7pm so this is where working from home and having a second monitor really comes handy. :)

I never have any expectations of England though - I'll just be hoping for a few decent games and goals.

They actually look decent at the moment. Would be happy with the quarters. No real expectations though. Southgate seems like a good egg though, and I want Raheem Sterling to do well just to piss off the racist tabloids.

I'm looking forward to watching Millwall "fans" getting their shit kicked in by crazy, vodka-and-steroid-fueled, stripped-to-the-waist, kickboxing Russian madmen.

Russia: a better class of fucking lunatics.

That's annoying, I don't seem to be able to see other people's predictions to mock them.

You're tipping England to lose to Columbia in the 2nd round. Harsh

In what can only described as "scenes" Spain have gone fully mental and sacked their manager the day before the World Cup starts.

Crazy buggers.

Poor finishing. Check.
No movement off the ball. Check.
Always looking for the backwards pass. Check.

Yep, England have arrived at the world cup...

My gran could have done better in the second half and 2018 is her 101st year and she has been dead for over a fifth of those.

Looked quite hot there tbh. I can imagine they were quite nervous, Sterling and Grippier looked well anxious.
