I still use Paint several times a week. I highlight a group of files, right-click, choose 'edit' (the option doesn't appear if you highlight over 15 files), which loads them all up in Paint, where I crop and resize each one. Then when all done, I use Caesium to compress them.

There are probably easier ways, but it's the quickest I've got so far.

If you've got Photoshop, look into the batch processes - you record them like a macro, then just fire them off on a folder or all the open files.

If not (or maybe even if you have): http://www.bricelam.net/ImageResizer/

I used to use that Image Resizer a while back, but I found that Caesium had more flexibility.

With the cropping and resizing, the images are all differently cropped (they're product photos for the site, so all kinds of stuff), so I've become quite quick at doing them one at a time in Paint and then once cropped, I just resize in Paint while I'm there. Bit of a dated way of doing it probably, but it's quick enough. :)

Raspberry Pi 3 starter kit for just £37 on Amazon today.

I’m tempted by this and it seems like good value for money. Would anyone in the know be able to tell me if it’s the right thing to buy if I just want to play retro video games on it?

My take on it is yes it would work but the 'top line price' is just made up (was £100 now £37) and I have concerns over the power supply after reading some of the comments

e.g.

Quote:
2.0 out of 5 stars
Raspberry pi was good and as expect and enclosure really nice. Reason for low rating is the power supply is low quality. The pi actually warns of low and inconsistent amps making it unusable. The power supply is rated for 2.5 amps as recommended for the pi. I tried a 2 amp supply to see if it was the pi or power supply at fault. Low and behold no power warning with the lower 2 amp power supply even though the pi recommends a 2.5 amp supply.

2.0 out of 5 stars
Raspberry PI 3 works fine, as expected.
Power supply is really low quality, with a really bad coil whine (high pitched noised really annoying), makes it unusable.
The 2 heatsinks were missing, even when are listed in the picture!
It's better to buy the Raspberry Pi 3 alone, an then every individual component, not a cheap one as in the end it will not be working properly like this power supply.

Reading the reviews it seems that they bundle a dodgy power supply and cheapo case with the Pi. And no SD card with the operating system on it.

Maybe spend a few quid more on something like this?

GOG has its own client, Galaxy, that works in much the same way as Steam, or you can just download individual game installers from the site.

Although, the Steam reviews for the director's cut version are pretty savage citing practically no changes from the original game except extra added bugs and a new game mode no one asked for.

Problem there was largely that they were charging for what was basically a patch. Not really an issue if you're getting it for free.

No, never really made it that far. This was just from losing some moderately upgraded thief to a narrowly missed jump followed by falling to instadeath. To be fair I almost always find roguelikes too stressful, but The Swindle is brutal.

I recall getting fairly frustrated with the jumping in that game. It required a level of precision that its controls weren't capable of matching.
