If you have BT Broadband and have 12 months on contract they are offering a new much smaller Youview box as follows

£35 with just Freeview channels

Free if you subscribe to a £10 a month channel package for a year

Channel package is OK and you can now add Netflix and other stuff (at extra cost) on a monthly basis

I'm ordering the £35 option as the smaller box will be worth it

Post subject:  Re: Bargains, Bargains, Bargains!

Nope, it's still available from Amazon. The deal is slated to end on the 5th of June, but they might end it earlier, run out of stock, or fix the error resulting in the extra low price before then.

Again, ensure you're not ordering from any third part sellers, it has to be direct from Amazon, and the discount is applied at the "review my order" phase of checkout, not when they're just in your basket.

They were sold out, but Amazon were still taking orders. Just with "4-6 weeks" delivery.

It's moot now anyway, since the offer is no longer available.

If you've got a PS+ sub the Telltale Games Collection is only £28. It's the full set of their recent games so:

  • Walking Dead Season 1
  • Walking Dead Season 2
  • The Wolf Among Us
  • Tales from the Borderlands (you get all the eps even though they're not all released yet)
  • Game of Thrones (you get all the eps even though they're not all released yet)

The only one I've played through already is The Wolf Among Us so this is well worth it for me. I do own S1 of The Walking Dead for the PC but it only cost me a few quid so no great loss. It also means I'm wringing yet more value from the final days of my three month PS+ sub before it expires which is a bonus.

There were problems on some systems and if you were affected then they never really fixed them - main ones being on TWD on Xbox360 which corrupted saves and left people who had played multiple chapters with no option other than to go back to the start.

(it worked fine for me but i remember a lot of problems being reported and some places having a tough choice to name TWD game of the year that year because it was so buggy)

Fair enough, I wasn't aware of any of that.

I did like one user's issue there where his game inexplicably switched to Spanish part of the way but Spanish isn't even a selectable language in the options.

That MELD mechanic sounds really irritating though, and will fuck with my head because I like to things extremely slow and steady.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013- ... hin-review

Quote:
MELD is collected from containers - typically two per level - but because of its inherent volatility it has a finite lifespan, and so expires after a random number of turns if it's not collected.

At this point, Enemy Unknown veterans may have an inkling of the devilish predicament this presents, because it can force more rapid progress through a level than conventional wisdom would usually deem prudent. As the number of turns that a MELD container will last for is randomised and isn't revealed until you have one in your line of sight, it's entirely possible for either one or both of these precious containers to be lost before you've even laid eyes on them.

I think that would really annoy me.

Anyone currently subscribing to NowTV? If you are, you should be able to cut your sub rates in half by trying to leave.

This was for the Entertainment Pass. I logged in to my Now TV account and hit Cancel Pass. It asked me to confirm I wanted to leave a couple of times. After which it implored "But we don't want you to go" and offered me 4 months of Now TV for 3.49. Hit Take Deal, job done.

Took about 1 minute. Hopefully it works for others. I take no responsibility for unwanted cancellations or babies.

Bit of an embarrassment of riches in the FINAL EXPLOSION of the Steam Summer Sale, just log in and take a look would be my advice.

I might take a pop at Alien Isolation and Borderlands The Pre Sequel, which have dipped to £7.99 and £9.89 respectively.

I suspect there'll be something for everyone in there. Dishonored is three quid. If you've never played Dishonored. Get that.

It's worth noting that as part of the second tier (currently $6.09) you get a voucher for 75% off Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel from the Humble Store which takes it down to about £7.50 so this bundle's potentially useful even if you've got all the content from the first two games.
