Grim... has posted that the PSN codes have 'sold out'

A bargain that will make you feel dirty - however its 'free' money (if you do it correctly) - copied from another forum

Follow this link :

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/fu ... ucher.html

To sign up for The Sun online - it costs £1 to sign up and they will mail you out a £10 amazon gift voucher (within 2 weeks)

Then follow this link : http://perks.thesun.co.uk/perks/get-a-1 ... qrnsGRdWJI to claim a £10 PSN gift code (instant code which you can redeem on http://www.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com )

You need to then cancel your sun membership within the first month (otherwise its about £9 a month)

I understand - however I have given them £1 and get 'stuff' worth £20 so i'm counting it as taking money away from them :-)

So when does the Amazon voucher arrive? Nothing in my inbox? The Sony £10 voucher was an easy £10 added to the account :)

From what I can see its 'mailed' out so possibly a physical voucher - and its something you'll get "within 2 weeks" (so if its just an email you still wont get it for a while)

I've stuck a reminder in my phone for the 6th of Jan which is a week before I need to cancel to cancel the account - i'll post it on here as well at that point in case anyone else takes it up

Hmmm, when clicking to get the PSN code it comes up with the message:

Quote:
Please note this offer is only available on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Official Soundtrack Store.

But when I stick the code into the Sony site it just adds a tenner to my wallet and, at that point, I presume they can't put any restrictions on what I buy with the money. I suppose I'll find out whenever I eventually go to use it.

Yep that's what I done added it to the PSN credit on the redeem voucher code.

Weird - it did not come up with that for me and the first part of the offer does not mention any limits

Reading posts on Hotukdeals from people who just spammed it to get multiple codes - and then people complaining that you can only have £120 in your PSN wallet and it wont let you add more :-)

(I've signed up once and got my PSN code / expect to get the Amazon code and then cancel)

I've marked the original post to show its sold out - in theory you could still get the Amazon code but its not quite the deal it was.

Bugger, I was going to get Mrs B to sign up when I got home. Getting £240 worth of Amazon and PSN vouchers for £12 is pretty sweet mind, though I wouldn't have bothered setting up all those accounts for it personally.

Sweet! Less sweet is the fact that you have to provide credit card details to buy something that costs nothing. :belm:

You can do it on your Xbox without giving them any details - its just if you buy it via the website.

Even worse is that you can have credit in your account (from the switch between points and money) and they still want a credit card !

What's even worse is having over £90 in your Microsoft account and you can't use it on your Xbox.

Yeah... Annoying.

Yeah, it was mentioned in the original HUKD thread. I've bookmarked the link at work and set a calendar entry to remind me.

It's just a generic link to get a live chat but this is the link their faq page gives for cancellation.

Star Wars Kinect is £7.99 on the Sainsburys website at the moment.

A bit rubbish, but at least it uses the Kinect. (That's the most positive thing I could come up with)

Just cancelled my Sun+ membership using the live chat link thing I posted earlier; it only took a couple of minutes and was pretty painless. They did offer me another £10 voucher if I stayed but as I never actually received the previous one I'm not taking the risk. Also, I'd need to have paid at least one month of the full membership cost which would eat into the 'profit' from that voucher and I don't actually know how much a full month's membership fee is.

I think it was £8 a month, so sticking around for another voucher would only net you £2 profit for the month. I don't think anyone could run a website for that sort of money.

Yes , I know :-)

Anyway I've just cancelled as well - was offered a £10 voucher to stay for another month - I seem to remember the monthly sub being about £9 so not something I was interested in but I got my PSN code and I do expect to get the Amazon voucher as well so not bad for £1

If anyone else signed up you should have a few days left but you need to cancel 5 days before your payment would be due. And if you subscribed when I first posted it that was the 13th of December so you should be okay to cancel before this Wednesday.

iTunes cards 20% off in store at Tesco.

Also: how long has the iPhone been able to redeem cards by reading the code with its camera? ZOMG MAGIC.

I think that was an iOS 7 feature.
