I do have Injustice on PS4 and its a reasonable game (although nothing special on the PS4 version) but under £13 for a digital 'full' PS4 game is quite reasonably priced.

£4 for the first two Batman games is really good as well, if I was ever getting near my consoles at the moment I'd be tempted to play Arkham Asylum through again for that price.

You can sign up for an 18-month 'Digital Pack Premium' subscription on http://www.thetimes.co.uk for £7 a month at the moment and get a complimentary iPad mini. I work that out to be £126, which is more than £100 off the price of a new one.

I'm just wondering now what the catch is, other than having to live with the shame of putting money in Murdoch's pockets.

Scrap that, I need to learn to fucking read. It's £7 a week.

Isn't that a bit of a kick in the teeth to all the people that actually bought the game and thus supported them through all the issue they've had since launch? Your reward is that other people get stuff for free! Woo!

Seems fair enough now they've got an equally broken sequel out. This game is 2.5 years old now.

Still won't touch it though, because Origin.

I went in and grabbed it anyway because it's always looked like a really pretty game and I fancy seeing how the single player version looks on my machine. While I was in there I noticed that Plants vs. Zombies™ Game of the Year Edition is also free at the moment here:

Heh, d'oh, I didn't realise it wasn't the latest one we were talking about. Shows how little attention I pay to these things!

I got one of these for the Grimlet to work on his typing. The keyboard is indeed very nice, and it comes with a cute "DS Stand", too.

There's about eight and half minutes left to get Alan Wake's American Nightmares for free from GOG:

Game (in-store) are selling off Wii Fit U 'Fit Meters' for £1, if anyone's interested. I had to ask at the counter to get mine, so it's worth asking if there's none on the shelves.

Latest Humble Weekly Bundle is the various Frogware games - If you listen to the Giant Bombcast they often have people on who talk about their Sherlock holmes games which are supposed to be a bit of an acquired taste

https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

Quote:
Pay what you want for Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles, Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Persian Carpet, Dracula: Origin, Dracula: Love Kills, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey: Heart of Gaia and Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine. For the intense fan, beat the average price to add on four additional Sherlock Holmes games: Nemesis, The Awakened, The Secret of the Silver Earring and Mystery of the Mummy. If you contribute $9 or more, you'll get everything plus Magrunner: Dark Pulse and Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper.

And another comic book bundle

Comic selection appears to be less good, but that's me literally judging books by their covers.

The one I would be interested in is the Dresden Files one, but that's at the top price point.

Hmmm... The Wild Cards books are great, might get the comics, but like you say it's a fair bit to pay just for one comic series.

Its in the 'beat the average' rather than the top price which is currently at $11.40 or about £7 - even if you go mad and pay the top rate ($15 to unlock all of them) its still just under £9

There's nothing at all in that bundle I'd be interested in; it's all pretty substandard stuff to be honest.

Fair enough - a basic writeup of whats in there

http://comicsbeat.com/dynamite-goes-hum ... undle-ever

Quote:
Dynamite goes Humble Bundle with biggest comics bundle ever

The entire comics industry wants to go humble! Humble Bundle that is! Yet another publisher has signed up for this service which allows readers to pay what they wish to download a bunch of ebooks, while supporting charity, This time the publishers is Dynamite, and they have over 120 books up for grabs—the biggest comics bundle ever—and daily free comics including, today Red Sonja #1 by Gail Simone. It’s all to celebrate their 10th anniversary as a publisher.

While I’ve been writing this story I’ve been watching the ticker go upwards — more than 300 just in the 10 minutes it took to type and check for typos. (HA) Already more than 2000 bundles have been downloaded. In keeping with the tradition of promotions hosted and arranged by Humble Bundle, Dynamite will contribute a portion of the proceeds to three important charitable organizations, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

More deets:

Dynamite is proud to announce that, through the Humble Bundle, the following titles will be available to purchasers at a price they personally determine. While full descriptions can be found at the Humble Bundle website, it’s noteworthy to point out the high caliber of contributing authors in this assortment: Warren Ellis (Planetary, Moon Knight), Grant Morrison (Batman, Happy!), Tim Seeley (Batman: Eternal), Fred Van Lente (Incredible Hulk), Mark Millar (Kick Ass, Ultimates), Amanda Hocking (of the paranormal Hollowland series), Bryan Johnson and Walter Flanagan (stars of AMC TV’s Comic Book Men show), and much more.

Amanda Hocking’s The Hollows: A Hollowland Graphic Novel (Multiple Issues)
• Chaos #1
• Cryptozoic Man (Multiple Issues)
• The Mocking Dead Vol. 1 (Multiple Issues)
• My Little Phony: A Brony Adventure
• Project Superpowers Vol. 1 (Multiple Issues)
• Sherlock Holmes Vol. 1: The Trial of Sherlock Holmes (Multiple Issues)
• Vampirella Masters Series Vol. 1: Grant Morrison & Mark Millar (Multiple Issues)
• Vampirella Masters Series Vol. 2: Warren Ellis (Multiple Issues)
• Vampirella Vs. Fluffy

AND — when you pledge more than the average you get these books!

• George R.R. Martin’s Wild Cards: The Hard Call (Multiple Issues)
• Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files: War Cry #1
• Kevin Smith’s Green Hornet Vol. 1 (Multiple Issues)
• Kevin Smith’s Green Hornet Vol. 2 (Multiple Issues)
• Legenderry: A Steampunk Adventure (Multiple Issues)
• Pathfinder Vol. 1: Dark Waters Rising (Multiple Issues)
• Red Sonja Vol. 1: Queen of Plagues (Multiple Issues)

Latest Humble bundle : https://www.humblebundle.com/

Pay what you want for

BioShock
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
The Darkness II,

Beat the average (currently around $4 to add

BioShock 2
Mafia II
Spec Ops: The Line

Pay over $20 to add Xcom and Bioshock Infinite

The first one of these in a long time where I have all the games but they will have bonus items i'm sure - it will just depend if they are worth the beat the average price at the time

I don't use Twitter so don't really care but the permissions this asks for are ridiculous, why would anyone do this?

Those megapacks are outstanding value for money. I've got a fair few of them, and simply skip a story if I think it is going to turn out to be duff.
