My loft conversion work starts that weekend. I'll have to check nearer the time if I can still make it or not, sorry.

Train prices are 8) so I'd probably drive there. What are your parking facilities like?

Not great. The new house is on a dual carriageway and I have room for one car on the drive, maybe two at a push. You may have to park on an adjacent side street.

Looking at the parking we can definitely get 2 cars on the drive at the moment. If we’ve sorted the front out and gotten rid of the fence by then* we will probably be able to get 5 in at a squeeze if there are some smaller ones.

We’ll also have a spare bed, sofa bed, and double air bed up for grabs if anyone wants them.

*we definitely won’t have though.

It's also possibly worth noting that the closest decent looking budget hotel to your new house is the Premier Inn Nottingham North Daybrook which isn't listed in your OP:

So this is just under two weeks away now. Still plenty of room if anyone wants to stay. Gaz and Jem have booked the spare room, but there is a double sofabed if needed.

Of course if you just want to come for the day then you can meet us there!

I didn't actually run this by Gaz so if he doesn't want to stay it might just be me with a dire need for a cuddle buddy :DD

I was just checking my flights for this on a whim, which turned out to be very fucking lucky indeed as I'd booked my return flight on the 11th of June rather than March. I'm pretty sure even myp would've been sick of me after I'd extended my visit for another three months so I booked another flight for the right date.

This isn't my worst offence in this regard by far (that would probably be the time I booked a hotel for the correct date but the wrong year) but I do seem to be really good at fucking this kind of thing up these days. Indeed that's why I even went to verify all this in the first place because I just don't trust myself in the slightest any more. And that instinct was the correct one it seems! Fucking fuck sake.

Just a note to say if you're coming to ours on Friday then anytime from late afternoon is fine. If you're meeting us at the venue on Saturday morning aim for about 10am. There are a few multi-storey car parks in town, but the nearest reasonably-priced one is the Lace Market car park on Pilcher Gate.

My flight gets into East Midlands at 12:20 on the Friday so by the time I get into town, dick around a bit, check into my hotel, etc, that should be about right for late afternoon.

Never mind Vision and Zardoz, can't be helped. The snow has messed a lot of things up. And I know what it's like to have no spare cash!

Ooo... this is today!
Not been to Nottingham since 2002. Quite excited.
Is the The Old Trip any good, or just a trap? I tend to always disbelieve any sign saying a pub is the a town's oldest.

It's fine in the summer and it's nice to sit outside. Service is bad because they have one tiny bar and a lot of customers all crowding round.

Disappointingly it's been moved from its original location.

2002 is when I moved here. :)

That's the one. :) Doesn't always have a boat in. Depends on who's actually moored their narrow boats there.
