Mobile games must have the highest shovelware to good games ratio ever. Trying to find good games in the play store isn't as fun as browsing any other game store like steam or gog. In fact, it's pretty depressing.

Some good games exist though. The Sorcery! games are fantastic, and I have all Fighting Fantasy adaptations on my phone. 10000000 is still the best match 3 game (maybe except for its sequel i haven't played yet), and i've been playing it again.

I've been eyeing the Shadowrun games but I fear they might get too small on a 5'' phone.

Anyway, need recommendations. Pocket Tactics is a good source of reviews, but not enough.

Games I've been enjoying lately and mentioned in the Android thread are:

- Polytopia - Civ-ultra-lite and Populous type game
- Data Wing - Thomas Was Alone meets Gravity Power minus any combat
- Calculator: The Game - every bit as exciting as it sounds. Mathematical puzzles on an endearing calculator interface.
- Cooking Craze - this got its teeth into me for a while but luckily I kicked the habit. Didn't spend any money on it but I played it enough to start dreaming of pancakes and hotdogs.

Tried Polytopia and liked for a while. It looks fantastic and has a great interface, but the game hasn't much depth and gets stale quickly. It's a shame, as it could have been so much better.

Check my posts in the Finish 52 threads as a good chunk of them are about Android games.
