Apologies Mimi; didn't know this.

No, no, I know you were joking, I don’t think that’s untowards in any way, but so close to what happened to me that I kind of felt internally it would be weird (to me) not to mention it. I think I’ve actually mentioned it before.

I despise that man for so many reasons, but this is something that has consequences right through to today and really affects me still.

What an absolute prick. I'm sorry to hear this Mimi.

The terrible thing is that he probably thought nothing of it and was unaware of how it could affect a young mind.

Oh, no, I don’t believe that at all. My grandmother Was very much family oriented, blood thicker than water under the bridge stuff that I do not go for at all, so I was unfortunate enough to have had to see him throughout my years growing up and, frankly, until she died. I know and have observed enough in him to know with some certainty it was calculated to hurt. He made such a big play of trying to get me to say I was enjoying my food that day. He wanted me to say I was enjoying eating my own pet, for his sick amusement, and so he could tell people.

I put up with him for the sake of my grandmother, and I decided that when she died I’d never let him near me ever again. It’s the real reason I didn’t go to her funeral (though I said something else), as the only person in the world I’d put myself in a room with him for was her, and she no longer would know, so I found myself saying goodbye to her alone, because I can’t bear that man.

Gosh, sorry, I’ve got myself quite upset now. It really was something that will affect me all my days

You've every right to be upset, that's a horrendous thing to do.

Evil bastard.

What an absolute bastard.

Get another duck. When he dies, feed him to your duck.

:D

I often think when we are older and Darwin grown up I may have another duck or two if we lived in the right kind of place. Maybe in retirement.

1989 by Taylor Swift is an absolute brilliant record.

In London on Monday, arriving at KGX, then going Holborne and back to KGX. Suspect you'll all be in work, but this is ADVANCE WARNING

Same floor still. Upstairs after the refurb I think whenever that is. How goes it with your new place?

Manic and quite bizarre, but way better resourced and so much closer to home.

The customer facing IT systems seemed pretty good at first glance but had a load of hidden surprises. The internal IT systems were almost non existent but that’s being sorted very rapidly. I’ve got 7 people to delegate stuff to and they all know their stuff, and we can lower the tone quite effectively. “Your mum’s one of those things” and similar phrases have turned into a nice running joke.

There’s been at least five new starters every week so far, and a second office opening in Birmingham soon. Don’t think it will be a long term job, but I’ve been told I’m “Smashing it out of the park” which I’m taking as a good sign.

Had a customer meeting today, and was waiting to see my contact, and a youngish guy in a BIG BLACK CLOAK walks in with an older guy. The younger guy also had a BIG BLACK HAT. Who was he? Gareth Gates! Exciting.

Advice please.

Say I save up some money to treat myself. What would represent the best value:

A) An HTC Vive/Occulus Rift for my existing PC (£600 ish)

B) PS4 Pro and PSVR (£350 + £450 ish = fuck me, £900, really??)

Well shit, that seems to answer my own question.

Yeah the PC thing all day long, if your PC is up to it.

If the goal is only "get VR". But the PSVR plan also gets him a PS4 Pro, which is worth considering.
