I've had this email off an Amazon seller.

Quote:
Hello.

I'm very sorry for bothering you.
Judging from your product review, I would say that you didn't have a very good experience with us.
We would like to offer you a compensation for your order.
We can send you brand new products or issue a refund.
Please consider it, and contact us back with your decision.
We are going to make your experience better.
I will be grateful if you could consider removing or editing your review.

Thank you
Manager of Printing Pleasure

At first, it looked a bit odd but when I looked into it it appears that I did leave a review in October of 2016 for some cheap printer cartridges I purchased. I said...

Quote:
I bought these cartridges around 2 months ago and have used them very sparingly. Today I've come to print something and the black one has "failed" according to my printer. No amount of cleaning is able to save it.

They were cheap but the fact that they won't last long probably explains this.

and I left a 1 star review. I can't remember leaving the review but I must have been quite annoyed as it's not like me at all. So, what would you do? Would you ask for some more cartridges and take the review down? Would you ask for a refund and take the review down or would you do nothing and leave it?

If they'd replied within a few days then that would suggest good customer service and I'd consider removing the review, or editing it to at least state that they dealt with you in a timely manner.

A year's taking the piss a bit though.

School places for the kid were confirmed this morning - we'd been a bit anxious about it as only Second Born had a place two days ago - which meant it was a possibility I'd be moving out on my own and the family would be following for the next term (April start) which would have been rubbish. So now all systems go - we've got about 40 days until we go.... And a lot to do.

When I lived there, it was rubbish. Seemed to get throttled a lot, and you really felt the U.S. come online.

Things may have changed since then.

Yes, he was excellent. Really interesting speech going through his career and talking about his teammates. Can't quite believe he's almost 60 now.

There are 3,600 seconds in an hour. Thinking of an hour it seems much more than 3,600 seconds long. 3,600 doesn’t seem that many seconds at all. If I count slowly, a number per second, it feels like it would take a lot less than an hour to reach 3,600.

I’m right, aren’t I?

Yes. Also, it would take you over 11 days to count to a million like that.

Of course to make that work you have to count to a thousand every second which is trickier

Would somebody on a PC please be kind enough to trim this to 100x100px and under 24kb so that I can use it as an avatar? I’m on my phone and either can’t or don’t know how.

Oh, it’s distorting the aspect ratio when an avatar. It’s ok, manatees are kind of misshapen anyway, and I’d lose a bit if it were cropped anyway, so it’s fine :)

Thanks again!

Really didn't know what to say to our four year old daughter the other day. She was coming up with a list of homonyms. "So there's bats that fly and there's bats that we play with" etc etc. Then she came out with "there's chicken that we eat and there's chickens that run around!".

I just said "err, yeah". She adores animals and I didn't think it was a conversation that either of us were ready for.

I remember having that conversation when I was young. Although it was ham and pigs.

It only put me off the not too nice laughing cow ham cheese that led to the conversation. TV were in Normandy, on the patio.

Just saying,.

Interesting. We've already had that conversation with our 3 and 5 year old. They're fine that beef comes from cows but I don't think they quite understand how it comes from cows.

Yeah she'll probably be completely unphased. I think it's more me. I eat meat but I find it to be a source of internal conflict. It's not something that I find that I can wholly justify to myself. And that makes it feel a little more awkward than it might be.

Why not? We're at the top of the food chain at the moment so we need to take advantage while we can. It might not always be that way. For instance, Dinosaurs could come back.

Could be worse, could be 'Daddy, where does cat food come from?'

'well, you know those horsies that Daddy shouts at on the telly on Saturday afternoon. Well...'
